About This Pub
You know, I reckon The Princess of Wales is one of those gems in London that just feels like a proper old-school pub – it's got that welcoming vibe that's perfect for catching up with mates over a pint or tucking into some hearty fare. The location's spot on, just a stone's throw from the stations, so it's ideal if you're after something convenient after a day out exploring. I loved the traditional dishes like the pies and fish and chips; they're proper comforting and well done, paired with a great range of beers that make it hard to leave. The staff really add to the charm, being so polite and on point with service. On the flip side, it's a shame about the occasional stock problems – a few folks have mentioned struggling to find options that suit allergies or specific tastes, which could put a dampener on things if you're particular about that. All in all, it's a lovely spot worth trying, but maybe plan ahead for a seamless visit.

We were staying nearby and wanted an easy late lunch. The pub is a 3 minutes walk from Embankment station so is very convenient.
We were there around 2:00 pm so the pub was not busy and so we were able to sit at a quiet table near the bar. We ordered a club sandwich and two Scotched Eggs to share. The sandwich was one of the best club sandwiches I have had. Big and very tasty. The eggs tasted good and were big enough that next time we will share one. This pub is highly recommended.
Lovely pub just behind Charing cross station clean tidy staff very polite and professional nice range of beers 🍻 sorry can't give a food review only there for the beer 🍻

Enjoyed delicious Fish & Chips here..and a great beer. We stumbled upon this place, and glad we did. Great atmosphere in this British pub! Our server, Ben, was absolutely wonderful!! Thank you!!
Great visit in September 2024 to the upstairs dining area. Bit difficult to find menu items that were in stock and within our allergy guidelines but our server was great about helping us find something to eat. Nice hidden gem!
