About This Pub

Ah, the Sherlock Holmes is one of those classic London gems that just pulls you in with its timeless appeal – imagine wandering into a pocket of Victorian London right in the heart of the city. I love how they've nailed that detective-themed atmosphere; it's fun without being over the top, and it's perfect for a relaxed catch-up over a pint or a bite. The food's a real winner too, with dishes like the fish and chips getting high praise for being hearty and tasty, and the drinks menu is packed with options to suit everyone, from craft beers to a nice glass of wine. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with friendly service that makes you feel right at home. On the downside, it does tend to fill up quickly, especially on busier days, which can lead to a bit of a noisy buzz and some queuing for seats – it's all part of the pub's lively character, but it might not be ideal if you're after a quiet evening. All in all, it's a top spot for a memorable outing, so I'd say give it a go, just perhaps pop in early or book a table to avoid the rush.

Mystery. There’s no mystery here as to why this pub is so popular. Great location, great food, great service and a cute theme. I actually expected this place to rest on its laurels and not try very hard to be great, because the name and location could easily be enough. However I was pleased to uncover the clues to their success: good people providing good service!! I think my favorite thing was the sticky toffee for dessert!

We stopped here because of the name and are glad we did. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We both had the fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed them. The pub can be a bit noisy but that adds to the charm.

This establishment offers a pleasant atmosphere, but Saturdays can be quite crowded. The bustling energy adds to the lively ambiance. Seating can be limited during peak times. Many visitors to the area frequent this spot. It's advisable to arrive early for a more relaxed experience.

Great bar/pub and restaurant. The pub has a very good atmosphere, fortunately no screens so conversations can still be held. The staff is friendly and helpfull. They serve multiple sorts of delicious beers and other drinks of course. While we visited the pub on a friday late afternoon it was pretty crowded and people enjoyed their accompany. The restaurant above is completely decorated and equipped in the theme of Sherlock Holmes and provides a plethora of paraphernalia. It is a joy to spend some time in “investigating” all the objects exhibited. The rooms in the restaurant still have the original wooden wall panelling and wall paper. Very pretty! Also here the staff is friendly and helpfull. The dinner we got served was excellent and against a fair price. I highly recommend this venue in order to drink, eat and enjoy the good atmosphere from old times.

We're on vacation and were drawn in by the name and loved the food. The fish and chips is fantastic and my wife loved her sirloin steak sandwich. The service is also fantastic. You might want to make reservations. We didn't know but we still got a table.
