About This Pub
Ah, the Prince of Wales in Starbeck – it's one of those classic local pubs in Harrogate that just feels like a second home for a good catch-up over a pint. From what I've gathered, it's spot on for sports enthusiasts, with live broadcasts of football, rugby, and even horse racing on those big HD screens, and the drinks deals are an absolute bargain, making it easy to enjoy a few without worrying about the tab. The beer garden is a real gem on a warm evening, and the entertainment like darts or Friday karaoke adds that extra spark for a fun night in. But let's be straight, it's not all perfect – some have had issues with the food not coming out right or missing options, and the staff can sometimes seem a bit low-key when you're hoping for a bit more chat. Still, with its community vibe and solid 4.3 rating, it's a solid choice if you're after an affordable, down-to-earth spot, just keep in mind it might not be the place for a family outing past 8 PM. Overall, I'd say it's worth popping in for a relaxed evening; you might just end up making it your go-to local.
Pros and Cons

-
Affordable drinks with some cracking offers, perfect if you're looking to have a good time without breaking the bank.
-
A lovely beer garden for those sunny days when you fancy a pint outdoors and a bit of fresh air.
-
Fun entertainment options like darts, karaoke on Fridays, and live music, which make for a lively night out with mates.
Cons
-
Food service can be hit or miss, with some reports of orders getting mixed up or certain dishes not being available when you'd expect.
-
The staff aren't always full of energy; a few folks have mentioned they come across as a bit flat at times.
-
It has a rule that anyone under 18 must leave by 8 PM, which might not suit families or groups with younger ones.
-
The vibe can feel a tad quiet in the early afternoon, so it might not be buzzing all day long.

I love coming here for the pints darts and have a laugh with the staff and the prince of Wales darts team there.
This is such a down to earth pub, everywhere is what you make it. Staff are always friendly, great if you don't want to go into town, Jolene with Karaoke is such a laugh on a Friday night. Very good priced drinks.
Two for the atmosphere, but it was early afternoon. Staff, no charisma.
The food was okay but served wrongly. The second time, family and I have been. Three strikes, and you're out. Let's hope that does not happen. I know it was Father's Day the day before.
No mixed grill Monday bad planning.
Get a grip. When I am paying over the odds for your beer. At least be attentive and be able to fulfill your menu.
I'm very disappointed, but give them their due, they took money off the bill. There is no way to run a business.
I hope that these comments help. I am not vindictive.. But ask for a review except an honest review.
Regards.
Always friendly and good atmosphere. A great night with great people
Friend came over for the weekend so decided to have a few drinks as it was close to home. Had a great night listening to the singer while playing quite a few games of pool. Brought quite a few drinks and even though it ended up coming back up later that evening, it was a great night and no hangover which is always a bonus.
