About This Pub

You know, when I think about Bertie's in Harrogate, it just brings a smile to my face – it's one of those cosy spots that feels like a proper local haunt. The staff really stand out; they're so welcoming and chatty, always making sure you're looked after, which adds such a nice touch to the experience. The real ale is top-notch, served just right with that fresh, authentic taste that keeps you coming back. Pair that with the great music and overall vibe, and it's spot on for a laid-back evening with mates. Oh, and the beer garden is a bonus on those sunny days – it's just the place to unwind. On the downside, though, prices are pretty average, so you might not walk away thinking it's a bargain. Plus, without a website or much online chatter, it can feel a bit out of the loop, and with not loads of reviews, it's not as widely known as some other bars around. Still, if you're after that genuine, community feel in Harrogate, I'd say give it a go – it's got heart, even if it's not perfect.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always serving with a smile and a friendly chat, making you feel right at home.
  • The real ale is spot on, kept well and tasting great, which is a real treat for ale lovers.
  • It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere with great music, perfect for relaxing with friends.
  • There's a lovely beer garden and seating out front, ideal for enjoying a sunny day in Harrogate.
Cons
  • It's a bit of a hidden gem with no website or online presence, so it might be tricky to get the latest details without checking Google.
  • Prices are just okay – nothing fancy, so you won't find any standout deals here.
  • With only a handful of reviews, it doesn't have the buzz of some bigger spots, and it might feel a tad under the radar.

Great local micro-bar. A favourite place for very loyal regulars, and also a popular stopping point for those heading into town. Always friendly and with a good sized beer garden, plus seating out front for sunny days! A great local find, and welcome addition to Starbeck and indeed Harrogate!
