About This Pub

Ah, The Prince Albert, what a spot it is down in Wolverhampton! From what I've gathered chatting about it with mates, it's got this warm, welcoming feel that makes you want to settle in for the evening. The food stands out a mile – think delicious Indian dishes that are spot on for quality and value, ideal if you're grabbing a bite before the theatre or just fancy something hearty. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, whether it's a quiet drink or a private function. It's brilliant for events too, with DJs spinning tunes and a decent setup that keeps things lively without feeling overcrowded – though, fair play, it can get a bit snug when the dancefloor heats up. On the flip side, parking's not the easiest, so you might have to plan ahead, and while the grub's tasty, it might not blow your socks off if you're expecting top-tier fine dining. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub lovers; you'd be hard-pressed not to have a good time, but it's worth keeping those little niggles in mind for a balanced outing.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely brilliant, especially their Indian cuisine – it's a real treat if you're looking for something tasty and well-priced before heading out.
  • Staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's got a cracking atmosphere for events and nights out, with DJs and plenty of space for a good time.
  • A solid selection of drinks on offer, including some favourites like inch's cider, which is a winner for those who know their brews.
Cons
  • Parking can be a bit of a faff around there, so you might end up walking a short distance if you're driving.
  • Space might feel a tad tight during busier events, like when there's a DJ playing and folks want to dance – could do with a bit more room to move.
  • The food's good, but it doesn't quite hit that high-end restaurant level for the price, so expectations might need adjusting if you're after something fancy.

Have not visited this place since the new owners have taken over- there were a couple of DJ's playing when we arrived plenty of people out enjoying the night- nice bit of garage was playing! Small note to owners if you are going to have a DJ for the night and people are dancing could we move the table and chairs please.

Attended recently for a private function. I found all the staff to be very friendly and welcoming, which helped the function to run smoothly. The room we had was also a decent size with the DJ located at the top out of the way, so I didn't feel like we were on top of each other. Parking is a bit mad though - easier to get a cab

Not a bad lil bar, we've visited a couple of times, one of the few places you can get inch's cider which is a favourite with us. We've eaten here before and it's good quality food, actually better than I was expecting but not quite the restaurant quality it's priced at. Good selection of drinks, priced similar to The Sunbeam and George Wallis, with the food, the outdoor area and sports on I can't help but think this place would be jam packed if they priced closer to Billy Wright or The Old Still. The outdoor area is really lovely, tucked away as it is the surrounding buildings dampen the traffic noise and the trees add shade and also help give the impression you're not in the middle of town. The plastic wicker chairs are really comfortable the whole area was clean and tidy, a really nice place to relax and sink a couple of cold ones after shopping before heading home.
