About This Pub

Ah, The Plough & Harrow – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper British gem in the heart of Stourbridge. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the real stars are the fantastic range of ales and ciders that keep everyone coming back for more, and that beautiful beer garden is a winner on a nice day, especially if you've got the dog in tow. Inside, the roaring log fire adds such a warm, inviting touch for those colder nights, and it's clear folks appreciate the friendly staff who make you feel right at home. On the flip side, it's not all perfect; I've heard a few tales of waiting ages to get served when it's busy, and the pub grub, while classic stuff like cobs and pork pies, can be a bit hit or miss in terms of quality. Still, with such high marks overall, it's a solid choice for a casual night out or catching up with friends – just maybe pop in on a quieter evening to avoid any hiccups.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The selection of award-winning ales and ciders is absolutely brilliant – perfect for a proper pint with mates.
  • It's got a gorgeous beer garden and a cosy log fire inside, making it ideal for sunny days or chilly evenings.
  • The atmosphere is so welcoming and friendly, with staff who go the extra mile, like returning lost items.
  • Dog-friendly and family-oriented in the garden, which makes it a great spot for a relaxed get-together.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit slow at times, especially if they're short-staffed behind the bar.
  • The food's traditional and straightforward, but it's not always consistent – some bits might be spot on, others not quite.

A lovely, friendly pub with a good atmosphere. We sat outside with the dog and enjoyed a few pints.

One person at bar in front of my friend and I, no staff in site, had to wait 16 minutes to be served - by someone who could hardly speak a word of English! Food was OK, nothing to write home about - some of the veg was soft, some rock hard - no consistency.

Had a wonderful time at plaça de plough, tiny little tapas plates. Highlights were the dry roasted legumes, salt and vinegar patatas bravas finished with the charismatic landlord for pudding

Great real ales & bar snacks. Traditional pub & friendly, helpful staff. I left my baseball cap and the manager kindly forwarded on to me. Fantastic customer service.

Great dog friendly pub next to the Park. It's lovely and cosy on the evenings, with a log fire and heaters throughout. Just a friendly stourbridge pub to meet friends and have a good evening at!
