About This Pub
Ah, Waggon And Horses – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a relaxed evening with mates. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are genuinely welcoming, always up for a chat and making sure everyone's having a good time, which really adds to the friendly feel. The drinks selection is spot on too; they've got everything from excellent beers and ciders to a wine list that's worth raving about, and it's all at an inexpensive price, so you won't break the bank. Live music brings the place alive on certain nights, and the beer garden is a nice touch for sunnier days, plus those homemade cobs and sausage rolls are just the thing if you're peckish. On the flip side, it's not quite as cosy as some other locals, which might leave you wanting a bit more of that snug, fireside charm if that's your thing. And without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get the latest on what's on offer. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for anyone in Stourbridge looking for a proper pub experience – the high ratings speak for themselves, and I'd say it's worth a visit for the great atmosphere and drinks alone, as long as you go in with realistic expectations.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and friendly, always making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
They've got a brilliant selection of drinks, from cracking beers and ciders to a great wine list that'll please anyone.
-
The atmosphere is spot on, with live music that really gets the place buzzing and a nice beer garden for when the weather's good.
-
You can grab some tasty homemade cobs and sausage rolls, perfect for a quick bite without fuss.
-
It's conveniently located in the heart of Stourbridge, just a short walk from the town centre, making it easy to pop in.
Cons
-
It might not feel as cosy as some other pubs in the area, like the Plough up the road, so if you're after a really snug spot, it could disappoint a bit.
-
There's no website or online presence to speak of, which makes it tricky to check menus or events ahead of time.
-
From what I've heard, it can be quiet at certain times, like midday, so the atmosphere might not always be lively.
-
The operating status seems a tad unclear – it's listed as closed in some places, but it's actually open most days, which could confuse folks planning a visit.

A winning pub within a few minutes walk from the heart of Stourbridge. I've been to the Wagon both with my little girl for a Birthday Party and for a couple of nights out with my Mom friends.
Lovely friendly staff, great atmosphere and great live music.
Cracking wine list and I can't recommend the home made Scotch Eggs enough. A real treat!
Lovely pub with great choice of drinks, some bostin' beers here. Great homemade cobs and sausage rolls too. Nice beer garden. A proper pub for proper people.😁

Quite lively for a Tuesday night. It has a nice aura to it, not as cosy as the plough up the road but definitely still a good part of Stourbridge. Only place that has Asahi on tap too! Comfy chairs and the three areas it has splits it up nicely, a small but serviceable pub garden to go along with it.
12:00 Noon - I’m the only customer ATM so cannot comment on atmosphere. Split into 3 areas - craft ales in the back bar, cider to the right and cask to the left. Selection of 7 cask ales, my Paleface APA was a top class ale to start the day with.
Fantastic pub right on my doorstep, brilliant selection of beers and ciders, along with great staff. Such a shame its been forced to shut down for so long (along with other businesses) . Look forward to it opening again. It is now open and up and running again, yippee, looking forward to drinking the Ludlow Gold, etc. Cheers to Dan and Amy.
