About This Pub
Ah, The Pant-yr-Ochain – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its enchanting setting, tucked away down a sweeping drive surrounded by hills and a lovely little lake. I have to say, the outdoor spots with picnic benches and parasols are brilliant for soaking up the scenery while enjoying a meal al-fresco, and inside, that historic 16th-century fireplace and quirky nooks make it feel warm and inviting, like stepping back in time for a chat over a pint. The food's a highlight too; they've got this passion for fresh, daily menus packed with classic British dishes and a bit of exotic flair, all whipped up by talented chefs – it's spot-on for everything from light bites to proper hearty meals. The staff are an absolute delight, always friendly and on hand to make your visit memorable. On the downside, it can get a bit sluggish with service when the place is buzzing, and every so often, a dish might not quite live up to expectations, as I've heard from a few mates. Still, with its high marks overall and that welcoming dog-friendly bar, it's well worth a trip if you're after a proper country pub experience – just pop in a booking to avoid any queues and make the most of it!

Wonderful find by my friends, such a lovely place and very elegant. Very comfortable and spacious and great with some rooms having back shelves and old books and some having views of the lake. Menu was quite nice and varied but the service was quite slow, very relaxed. and took ages to even get drinks. And similar with food which was good but not amazing, and rather over priced. I would go again if taking someone I wanted to impress but doubt I would otherwise
We've had fish and chips here a few times before and it has been really good so had no hesitation in ordering again. This time we were very disappointed. It was tasteless and mushy and obviously not cod (I admit I did not check if it said it was on the menu) and the chips were frozen chips. We'll think twice about going again now.
What a fantastic experience we had. From service to the food we could not ask for more..Your staff are amazing, attentive and friendly. Food was incredible. What a fabulous time we had and we will definitely be returning
We had a fantastic experience today with our server Rob who was so kind and attentive. The food was incredible, we had roast dinners and a mini dessert with tea and it was fabulous. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful country pub. Ambitious menu that most chefs tackle very well. Extremely busy Sunday Dinner service, worth a look. Booking advisable.
Hoping they bring back the T Bone steak as it was the best in Wrexham.
Well stocked bar. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Guest ales.
Sunny summer day in the garden, snacking on starters & small dishes is a highlight of the year.
