About This Pub
Ah, The Acton Park – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Wrexham, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, it's all about that cosy, inviting atmosphere where you can pop in for a mid-week catch-up or a hearty Sunday roast with the family. The staff really shine through; they're chatty and attentive, going the extra mile to sort out any special requests, which makes every visit feel personal and enjoyable. The food menu is a winner too, with plenty of choices that won't break the bank, and it's fresh and flavoursome, whether you're opting for the set lunch deal or something from the vegan options. On the flip side, the opening times can be a bit of a puzzle, with some variations that might catch you out if you're planning a last-minute trip. And while it's generally buzzing in a good way, it does get lively during events, so if you're after a serene spot for a quiet chat, it might not always hit the mark. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint and a plate, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area – just keep an eye on those hours to avoid any surprises!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, chatty, and spot on with special requests, making you feel right at home.
-
The food is top-notch, with a great selection of dishes that cater to all tastes, including tasty options for vegetarians, vegans, and little ones, all at a reasonable price.
-
It's got a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for catching up with mates, enjoying a quiz night, or celebrating with a group without feeling crowded.
-
Convenient location near Chester and Wrexham attractions, making it an ideal spot to unwind after a day out, and it's easy to get to by car or train.
Cons
-
The operating hours seem a tad inconsistent or confusing at times, which might put a damper on spontaneous visits.
-
While the overall vibe is lovely, it could get a bit lively during events like quizzes, so it might not be the quietest place if you're after a peaceful pint.

We hadn't been here for a few years so thought we'd give it another go, and was certainly well worth it. Sian our server got our special requests for meals spot on, and was very helpful, chatty and friendly. food was great, atmosphere was perfect and although there was also a quiz on, we could still sit and speak in our group without being disturbed by it. Also we assume the guy was a manager, (if he isn't, he sure should be) he was also very good, checking all was good with meals, and friendly and chatty.
I come here a lot but tonight I came here for an evening meal with a friend. We had the set meals which included the 2 course for 12.99. The food, atmosphere and staff were amazing. Our server Nicky was amazing, polite and welcoming.
