About This Pub
Ah, The Beeches in Gresford – it's one of those pubs that you pop into and think, 'This could be a regular haunt,' with its warm welcome and a menu full of seasonal flavours that promise a proper meal. I love how the staff go out of their way to make you feel at ease, and those lunch specials at just £6 for mains are an absolute bargain, letting you try new dishes without breaking the bank. It's got that spacious, comfy feel with high standards in furnishings, ideal for catching up with mates or even hosting a small do in their function room. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; sometimes the food takes its sweet time to arrive, and when it does, it might not always hit the mark – think a burger that's a bit overdone or chips that aren't piping hot, leaving you a tad disappointed. Prices are moderate, yet there are moments when the taste doesn't quite match up, as some have found it overpriced for what you get. Still, with a solid overall vibe and those gems of experiences, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area, just manage your expectations and maybe go on a quieter day for the best of it.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are always friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
They've got some cracking deals, like those £6 mains for lunch with tasty options such as the Grilled Chicken Caesar Flatbread – perfect for a midweek treat.
-
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with spacious seating that gives off a real sense of quality and comfort.
-
It's conveniently located near Wrexham, with easy access and parking, making it a great spot for a casual get-together or even booking their function room for something special.
-
The food hits the spot when it's good, like those hearty mains and desserts that leave you satisfied and smiling.
Cons
-
Food can sometimes take a while to arrive, which might leave you a bit peckish if you're in a rush.
-
Quality isn't always spot on – I've heard tales of dishes coming out a tad burnt, bland, or not quite hot enough, which is a shame for pub grub.
-
Prices feel a bit steep at times, especially if the meal doesn't quite live up to expectations, making you wonder if it's worth the spend.
-
The place can get messy, like with leftover bits on the floor, which takes away from that cosy vibe you'd hope for.
-
It's a bit hit or miss overall, with some visits being brilliant and others leaving you wanting more from the experience.

It’s a very nice pub, moderate prices. Wasn’t too busy, only complaint was the floor was a bit messy with leftover food from the last people. Food did take a bit long to come out, but worth the wait. Would return.
Save yourself to hassle. Try a different restaurant. As this food is not worth the price aren't way overpriced. With a horrible taste.
Popped in here on our way home, all 6 of us were very hungry. The place was pretty quiet, I expected it to be busier for a bank holiday Monday. All table service, the guy who served us was friendly & helpful. The food was Good, all 6 plates completely empty. The same with the desserts. Reasonably priced food, I would definitely eat here again. If you are planning to go here in a day or 2, iv added a pic of a QR code that if you scan it you can sign up to their website & they email you a voucher for 25% off, it won't work on the day, takes over 24hrs for the code to be sent.
It was meh, burger shrivelled, a little burnt, tough and cold. Whilst, salad had that weird pre made supermarket chemical taste and chips not that hot either - overall flavour bland and left me wanting more - yes its pub food, but I've had much much better at other places
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere saves this from being a 2 star review
Positioned to serve the Premiere inn next door and a great busy road near Wrexham with some parking available for non hotel visitors.
The place itself is spacious, with high standards of furnishings and a feel of warmth and quality. The food from the main menu is typical pub fare including a steak and a couple of Curries but fairly standard. My chicken however was well cooked and juicy and the salad was fresh and crisp, the highlight of this visit.
Upin arrival, I was ignored twice by the same lady who was determined to avoid any eye contact or acknowledge me waiting to be seated. The barman dealing with around 100 empties managed to show me to the biggest table available (dining solo) and took a drink order 👍. 5 minutes later I get a menu once my order went in It was around 15-20 minutes for my meal Which is fair but Id already spent an additional 15 minutes getting to thst stage.
I would give this restaurant another try because the food was well prepared if not as good as homemade and maybe there will be different floor staff on shift.
