About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about The Old Ship – it's one of those cosy spots by the sea that just warms you up from the inside out. Picture this: you're sipping a pint with the waves crashing nearby, and the staff are all smiles, making sure everything runs smoothly. The food is brilliant, with massive portions of freshly cooked meals that feel like a proper home-cooked treat, and it's all at reasonable prices too. If you're lucky, you might catch a live band that really gets the place buzzing, or if you're staying, the rooms are clean and comfy for a peaceful night. On the flip side, it can be a bit hit-or-miss with drinks; someone mentioned not getting a full pint when they asked, which is a tad annoying. And if you're after constant excitement, it might feel quiet on off days. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed outing, especially with that lovely 4.4 rating backing it up – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the good far outweighs the minor niggles.

Cons

Booked for Sunday lunch. Huge portions for price! Desserts were absolutely lush. Staff were on the ball with quick and friendly service. Only thing to fault were the drinks asked for pint of lemonade and got a tiny bottle of schwepps with a pint glass!

Two of us went for lunch on a Saturday. I'm glad we booked in advance, it was really busy. I'm not surprised the food was delicious!!! I had to ask for a goodybag there was so much on my plate. Everybody was friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault the place. We will definitely be going back.👍
