About This Pub
Ah, The New Ship – it's one of those unpretentious pubs that really captures the heart of a seaside community. From the reviews I've seen, folks are buzzing about the friendly service; it's that kind of place where the staff make you feel like a regular straight away, with a welcoming vibe that's just spot on for a relaxed evening. The atmosphere is lively too, with pool and darts on offer, and if you're up for it, a quick stroll leads to a stunning sea view that adds a nice touch. The beer gets top marks, especially the Guinness, which sounds like it's poured just right. On the food front, when people have given it a go, they've been impressed by the hearty portions and home-cooked goodness, like those fabulous roasts or traditional breakfasts – it's clear it's a hit for a proper meal. But, to keep it real, the decor is a tad worn out, so it might not wow you visually, though it's always clean and tidy. All in all, it's a solid spot for a pint with mates or a bite to eat, especially if you're after that authentic local feel without any fuss.

Didn't eat so can't comment on food
Service pleasant.
Atmosphere was welcoming.
Guinness was good.
Decors a bit tired but it's clean and overall a nice local pub
Haven't tried the food yet, but the welcome is a warm and friendly, lovely social atmosphere with pool table darts and very cold, wonderfully tasting beer (after all, it is a pub 😀). Not to mention a lovely view of the sea through a short walk through a side turning.

Wandered around Newbiggin and was told this was the second best pub here. Nice welcome. Usual beers but the local darts team practising! Very cute.
Stopped here for Sunday Lunch today after a strole along the prom. Sat outside with our 2 dogs (could have taken them inside) enjoying the sun. Fabulous home cooked roast dinner, 1 beef & 1 vegetarian. Hearty portions, tasty food, 5 fresh vegetables, homemade yorkshires, roast potatoes and proper gravy. Good price, excellent service and yummy puds!!! Highly recommended.👍👍👍👍👍
We went here for breakfast three days in a row. The first day they weren't even actually open for breakfast but he still cooked us sausage sandwiches. The other days we had a traditional cooked breakfast, the eggs were amazing, poached eggs! Beautifully done as well. Lovely local sausages. Impressed with the service and the food. (wanted to do a tripadvisor review struggling to find it on there though)
