About This Pub

You know, I had a great time at the Cresswell Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local spot, tucked away on the high street. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everyone's sorted, which really adds to the welcoming feel. It's buzzing with energy, especially when the sports are on those big screens, and there's plenty to keep you entertained with the pool table and dart board for a bit of friendly competition. Plus, the prices are spot on, so you can kick back with a pint without it costing a fortune, and they've got some decent pub grub if you're peckish. On the flip side, the beer choices are a bit on the slim side – no draft beers, for one, which was a minor letdown – and it's not overflowing with options overall, so if you're after a massive selection, you might want to look elsewhere. Still, with that solid 4.5 rating, it's clear most folks leave with a smile, making it a reliable choice for a relaxed evening out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in
  • It's got a lively atmosphere with big screens showing sports, perfect for catching the footy with mates
  • Prices are really reasonable, so you can enjoy a good night out without worrying about the wallet
  • There's a fun vibe with extras like a pool table and dart board, plus some solid pub grub to keep things going
Cons
  • The beer selection is a bit limited, with no draft options available, which might disappoint if you're after variety
  • Not a huge choice of drinks or food, so it might feel a tad basic if you're looking for something more extensive

A decent pub. Seemed busy and lively, the staff were friendly. Several big TV screens showing sports. Some "pub grub" available, not a huge choice of beers, but good enough. Also a pool table and a dart board. They seem to like their Newcastle teams, and have a load of Beetles themed musical instruments on the wall...
