About This Pub

Ah, The Old London Apprentice – it's one of those pubs that just warms your heart from the moment you step inside. I've heard from folks who've been there that the bar staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making everyone feel part of the gang. The community feel is brilliant, with live music nights and events that really bring people together for a good laugh and some cracking tunes. Plus, the food and drinks don't disappoint; a solid pint of ale paired with hearty meals or watching the big match on those screens – it's all there to make your visit worthwhile. The garden's a nice touch for when the weather's on your side, but it's a bit of a shame about those large red bins stealing the show in the background – it could do with a bit more privacy or tidying up to keep the focus on the good times. Overall, it's a solid spot for a pint with mates, and with that 4.3 rating, it's clear most people leave with a smile, though keeping an eye on the little niggles would make it even better.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • There's a real community vibe here, with live music and events that make for some memorable evenings.
  • The food and drinks are spot on – think great pints of ale, tasty breakfasts, and a cosy spot to watch sports on the big screens.
  • The garden area is a lovely spot for a relaxed drink, especially on a sunny day.
Cons
  • The garden view can be a bit marred by those large red bins, which might put a damper on the outdoor experience.
  • It seems like there aren't many recent reviews highlighting any issues, but that one mention of the bins is a small downside in an otherwise great setup.

Great barman who was very friendly. We sat in the garden . Unfortunately the large red bins were in full view.

This pub is a really wonderful place. Really great people behind the bar and a great community feel. Lots of good live music too, which is always appreciated. I've spent many very enjoyable evenings here and I only regret that I didn't appreciate it more when I lived nearer!

One day a year a coach from Barry south Wales goes to the races. When we arrive we get an excellent breakfast and a great atmosphere, really nice pub.
