About This Pub
Ah, The Old Ball Inn – it's one of those pubs that really warms your heart on a good day, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the managers Babs and Gordon are absolute stars, always greeting you with a smile and making sure everything runs smoothly. The beers are spot on, well-kept and just what you need after a long week, and they've spruced the place up nicely, so it's clean and inviting for a proper catch-up. Entertainment-wise, it's buzzing with quiz nights and live acts that keep things entertaining, and they've been brilliant for things like wakes, showing they're flexible and community-minded. But, let's be honest, it's not all pints and cheers; a few people have mentioned the staff can be a bit off sometimes, coming across as blunt or not as friendly, which is a shame when you're hoping for that perfect pub vibe. Then there's the odd event that doesn't kick off on time, like karaoke dragging its heels, and it might not suit everyone if you're a bit younger and looking for a more vibrant crowd. Overall, though, if you're in the area and fancy a solid local spot for a laugh and a drink, it's worth popping in – just go with an open mind and you'll likely have a great time.

Cons
-
Some folks have had experiences with staff being a bit rude or unwelcoming, which can really put a dampener on your night out.

It might not be the best fit for younger crowds, as a few reviews mentioned feeling uncomfortable or not quite included.

Can’t fault the place 😁
Managers and staff very nice and welcoming nice place for night out
Held a wake here recently.staff were very accommodating. Even sett up a karaoke later in the day .kid friendly too.
Don't bother if you like karaoke! 2hrs from alleged start time.. still nobody hosting
So if your not local to the pub and you don't mind 2hr wait for the landlady(alleged singer)🤔 never been into a pub that doesn't stand by its own advertising.
Spoke to a few dj's I know(I'm retired) they couldn't believe it!.
Great pub with well kept beers, great hosts Babs and Gordon who are very welcoming
🙂🙂🙂
