About This Pub
Ah, the Prince of Orange – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered, the staff are absolute stars, always polite and ready with a smile, which really sets the tone for a welcoming evening. The drinks are a bargain, and the food doesn't disappoint either; I mean, who can resist a burger that's as tasty as the ones they've got here? Plus, with live music on the weekends and a cosy beer garden for sunnier days, it's easy to see why folks keep coming back. On the flip side, it does close up a bit early at 10 PM, so it's not ideal if you're in the mood for a proper all-nighter, and some might find its traditional vibe a tad outdated compared to flashier spots. All in all, though, it's a reliable choice for a pint and a chat – I'd say give it a try if you're in the area; you might just end up making it your go-to.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
-
Drinks are affordably priced, like getting a pint for under £4, which is a real treat these days.
-
The food is spot on, especially those burgers made with proper Welsh beef – they're packed with flavour and beautifully presented.
-
Live music and entertainment on weekends create a lively atmosphere that's perfect for a good night out.
-
It's in a brilliant spot in the town centre, right near the bus station, train station, and shopping areas, so it's easy to pop in.
-
The beer garden is a lovely spot to relax with a pint in the sunshine, and it's great that it's dog-friendly too.
Cons
-
The opening hours wrap up at 10 PM, so if you're after a late-night venue, you might need to head elsewhere.
-
It has a bit of an old-school charm that might not appeal to everyone looking for something more modern or trendy.

Recent Reviews
New owners who are really friendly and have made the pub a nice chilled pub to go in, food is gorgeous and the live entertainment they have on at weekends seems to be going well so far.
I don't know why, but I've always thought this place would be a bit of a dive and so in the 30 years I've lived here, I've never been in. I'm sorry!
However, as Stacked are now cooking here, we gave it a go. The bar staff were lovely and drinks were a lot cheaper than I've paid at other places which was a bonus. The guy on the bar also came over to make sure we understood the ordering process for Stacked which was good of him.
Stacked was, as always, delicious and I'll review them separately. The only thing I will say, is that if you think Stacked is good when it's delivered, get down to the Prince of Orange and try it fresh!
