About This Pub
Ah, The Odd One Out – what a hidden gem in Colchester! From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that proper local pub charm that just draws you in, with friendly faces and owners who make everyone feel welcome straight away. You'll find affordable prices that keep things relaxed and accessible, and the beer selection is spot on, plus there's a lovely back garden for when the weather's playing nice. It's clear folks appreciate the clean, tidy feel and the chance for a good chat with strangers who quickly become mates. On the downside, it's not the most visible spot – you might drive or walk by without spotting it, and it can give off a 'closed' vibe from the outside, which is a shame because once you're in, it's all smiles and good times. All in all, if you're after a straightforward, budget-friendly spot for a pint and a natter, it's well worth seeking out, but maybe double-check the opening times to avoid any disappointment.

Cosy local pub with affordable prices, friendly regulars & kind owners.
A real 'local' pub. Within 5mins, had convivial conversation with complete strangers.
Experienced barman, gave us a good 'rundown' of the beers available.
You can easily miss this pub from the roadside, but worth the effort finding it. An interesting selection of beers, warm atmosphere inside. On a fair weather day the outside back garden is lovely. There is obviously a group of regulars so the vibe is very welcoming and friendly. Worth a visit for a personal and traditional pub!
This pub doesn't look much from the road, in fact most of the time I have walked past it looks closed...! Much brighter when you go in, and loads of choice of drinks. There is a garden area at the back with a few benches, and with it being at the back of the pub, it hides a bit of the road noise.
First visit ever and really enjoyed it. Lovely ambience with all the candles lit and it was very clean and tidy with no clutter. The Ladies toilet was gleaming! I was so impressed!
Great service from Lesley who loves working there. My Partner thoroughly enjoyed his pint!
Definately going to go back!
