About This Pub
Ah, let me tell you about The Nut & Nettle – it's one of those hidden treasures that really stands out for its focus on vegan cuisine, and from what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks are absolutely raving about the food. Imagine tucking into a garlic mushroom and kale tart that's both indulgent and fresh, paired with colourful salads and sides that make every bite an adventure; it's clear they've put real heart into creating dishes that are not just healthy but packed with imagination and flavour. The team there comes across as genuinely warm and helpful, turning a simple lunch into a lovely experience, which is always a plus when you're out for a bite. On the flip side, though, it's a bit of a shame about the limited hours – only open four days a week and wrapping up by teatime – so it might not suit those impromptu evenings or if you're just passing through. Plus, if you're expecting a bustling pub with live music and a wide selection of drinks, this feels more like a relaxed cafe setup, which could be a letdown for some. All in all, if you're a fan of wholesome, creative vegan options and don't mind planning ahead, it's well worth a visit; the glowing reviews speak for themselves, and it's heartening to see a place like this thriving in Bridlington.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely imaginative and delicious – think vibrant vegan dishes that burst with flavours, textures, and creativity, like those well-filled samosas or curried tofu sandwiches that even had a sceptical meat-eater coming back for more.
-
The staff are wonderfully friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to make you feel welcome, whether it's recommending dishes or handling any requests with a smile.
-
It's a great spot for anyone passionate about plant-based eating, offering wholesome and indulgent options that cater to vegans and non-vegans alike, with everything beautifully presented and full of fresh ingredients.
Cons
-
The opening hours are quite limited, only operating four days a week and closing early at 3pm, which might make it tricky to pop in for a casual evening out or if you're planning a spontaneous visit.
-
Being a bit out of the way in Bridlington, it could require some effort to get to, especially if you're not in the area, though it's definitely worth the trip if you're keen on quality vegan fare.
-
As a vegan-focused venue, it might not have the full traditional pub vibe with pints and lively evenings, feeling more like a cosy cafe, so if you're after a classic boozer atmosphere, this might not quite hit the mark.

Had the 5 course plant based supper club menu & absolutely loved it. The ingredients were so detailed and imaginative. The pics do not do it justice. Would recommend to anyone who's passionate about food.
Very imaginative vegan food, very tasty, and beautifully presented. Very colourful and loads of different textures. My samosa was well filled with tasty veg, and the spices were really well balanced. Coriander chutney went very well with it, as did the coleslaw and quinoa salad. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which always helps, and we sat outside in the sunny courtyard (this was 8th March!) for a lovely lunchtime experience.
Extremely good value for money!
Please can you open a branch in Sheffield?
Staying in the region and Nut & Nettle was on our 'must do' list, even though it was a little out of our way. So delighted we made it for lunch today. The garlic mushroom and kale tart managed to be both indulgent and wholesome, with a variety of fresh, contrasting salads - perfect! The pastachio and yogurt sponge was absolutely sublime - the lightest most interesting cake I've had in 10 years of eating plant-based diet 👏🏼😍, and possibly the 45 years leading up to that 🤔😄?! N&N are doing everything right in creating a warm, welcoming environment, serving excellent food - exceptional baking - that everyone should enjoy.
Took my vegan son and his wife today for a coffee and cake ended up having a sandwich as well Every thing was amazing even my sceptical meat eating husband enjoyed every thing he had
Definitely be back again the lovely ladies servicing were helpful friendly nothing was too much trouble
Wow, wow and wow again. We moved to Scarborough two years ago and have been meaning to try this place - now very much ashamed it's taken us that long. Very friendly service, quick too and the food is extraordinarily good. How lucky to have this in Bridlington. I had a curried tofu sandwich and a side order of chips, my partner had a wild waffle topped with all kinds of delights. Had an amazing chai tea too. Obviously we need to return sharpish, if only to try one of the delicious sweet treats on display that we didn't manage this time.
