About This Pub
Ah, The Newbridge Stonehouse – it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in with its promise of hearty meals and a cosy atmosphere, especially if you're popping by in Wolverhampton for a bite. From what I've gathered chatting about places like this, the food's a definite highlight; think succulent roasts and fresh pizzas that folks rave about, perfect for a relaxed Sunday or a quick family meal. The deals are brilliant too – 50% off on certain dishes and that rewards app make it feel like you're getting a bargain without skimping on quality. And it's heartening to see they're involved in the community, supporting local charities, which adds a nice layer to the whole experience. On the flip side, though, service can be a mixed bag; some visits are smooth with friendly staff going the extra mile, but others drag on with long waits or forgotten details, like a carvery without the all-important gravy – that's just not on, is it? Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.1, it's clear most people have a good time, so if you're heading out for a pint and a plate, I'd say give it a go, but maybe keep expectations in check for those busier evenings. All in all, it's a solid spot for value and vibes, as long as you're prepared for the odd off day.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food here is generally spot on, with delicious carvery roasts and fresh stone-baked pizzas that hit the spot every time – I've heard it's a Sunday favourite for a reason.
-
They've got some cracking deals, like 50% off pizzas and burgers, plus that rewards app where you can earn free meals – makes it feel like you're getting real value for your money.
-
The staff can be lovely and attentive; stories of quick service and friendly faces, like Sophie checking in to make sure everything's alright, really add a warm touch.
-
It's a family-friendly place with affordable options and even veggie and vegan choices, plus they're big on supporting local charities, which is a nice community vibe.
Cons
-
Service can be a bit inconsistent, with some folks waiting ages for their mains or having tables left uncleared, which puts a dampener on the experience.
-
A few meals have fallen short, like bland carvery or missing bits such as gravy, which is a real shame for a pub that's meant to shine with its roasts.
-
Delivery orders through apps like UberEats have had issues, with items not as expected, so it might not be the best for a takeaway night in.
-
While it's open long hours, the overall experience isn't always reliable, as seen in those lower-rated reviews where things just didn't live up to the hype.

Never had a bad meal here. From breakfast eat in to takeaway or a too good to go order. Their Sunday dinner is also delicious, flavourful and tender meat. Highly recommend.
Came in after a day at the park and was served by the lovely Sophie, Tia, Morgan, Scarlett and Jamie. Food was brilliant with super quick service, extra shoutout to Sophie for checking if everything was okay multiple times, I felt like a very valued customer. :)
Today, Thursday 20/03, my wife and I came to Wolverhampton for a tattoo session. We went for a walk and enjoyed a delicious burger and a few laughs. The place was cozy, clean, had good music and the people who work there were polite and attentive. We will be back on Saturday to try the breakfast here.
I ordered on UberEats after seeing this restaurant had a rating of 4.2 by 700+ people but I honestly do not understand how!? I ordered a carvery - this was delivered without a Yorkshire pudding as requested but most importantly without gravy, I’m not sure who eats a carvery without gravy!? I had to make my own on delivery which defeats the object of ordering and paying out! One roast potato - you definitely do not get your moneys worth! Finally, whilst the food doesn’t look too bad visually, the taste is not quality at all - the chocolate fudge cake was honestly the worst I’ve EVER tasted, I’m not one to waste food and would describe myself as a foodie but this went in the bin!
We went here recently for a birthday meal, the carvery was bland at best, the tempura prawns were served on a bed of bad lettuce as shown.
Service was awful. We waited over an hour and a half for mains. The table wasn't cleared for ages. We actually called a waitress to know if they had forgotten about us. Lasagne was like tomato soup.
I would have been a lot more forgiving had the restaurant been busy, but it wasn't. Tables that came in long after us were gone long before our mains were on the table. 4 hours for starters and mains. Grandchild waited 45 minutes for one scoop of ice cream.
Will never go again. Very disappointing.
