About This Pub
You know, I have to say, The Navigation Inn really won me over with its brilliant vibe and cracking food. It's one of those places where everything just clicks – the meals are fresh, tasty, and come in hearty portions that make you wonder how they keep prices so reasonable. I loved how the staff are so approachable; it's that personal touch, like the chef popping over for a chat, that makes you feel right at home. The canal setting is an absolute treat, ideal for whiling away an afternoon with a pint or enjoying a meal outdoors if the weather's playing ball. On the flip side, it's a shame there's no website to look things up easily, and being unclaimed online might mean it's not as on top of things as it could be. Still, overall, it's a gem for anyone after a proper pub experience without the fuss – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for a relaxed evening out.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely delicious and freshly prepared, with generous portions that leave you feeling satisfied.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and go the extra mile, like the chef introducing himself and offering menu advice.
-
It's got a beautiful setting by the canal, making it a lovely spot for a relaxed meal or drink.
-
Great value for money, with meals coming in at a moderate price that feels well worth it.
-
The place is spotlessly clean and well-maintained, adding to that genuine welcoming feel.
Cons
-
There's no website or online presence, which makes it a bit tricky to check the menu or opening times before heading out.
-
The business seems unclaimed on Google, so it might not respond quickly to any feedback or queries.
-
Its operating status is a tad unclear from what I've seen, though it generally appears open most days – always best to double-check.

Just been for a meal here and was very surprised at how good it is was! The food was excellent. The chef introduced himself and it was clear he knew what he was about. He consulted us on the menu and offered up options.
There was a genuine lovely feel about the place. And as for value for money it was unreal. If I had paid more for my meal I would have still been happy.
Will definitely be back. Looking forward to seeing the new menu.
Called in on staying overnight on a narrowboat. We both had fish and chips, and a shared lemon meringue pie with ice cream, two pints and a large glass of wine for under £50. Excellent food, really enjoyed it, well done the Navigation.we eat out less and less these days because food and prices are not worth it and not very good, leaving you disappointed. This was great , highly recommended.
Fabulous pub, beautiful setting by the canal
Can highly recommended the food absolutely delicious, fresh, hot,and big portions. Chef goes the extra mile we will deffo be eating here more. price an quality is outstanding
10 of us went for mothering Sunday lunch we were not disappointed. The food was gorgeous and plentiful. I had the veggi option mushrooms and spinach Wellington with cream sauce-gorgeous. The rest of the family had roast dinner which they assured me was delicious 😋 the mums (3of us) were given free pudding. I had steamed jam sponge and custard and the rest had chocolate brownies and ice cream which apparently was divine! We definitely will be back and would highly recommend to anyone.
Absolutely superb pub! Stu cooks from fresh! No microwave going on here and, after a broken glass, seeing Jay clean up, sweeping into every nook and cranny it's obvious why the place is immaculate! Brilliant venue, high quality food and staff anyone would be proud to have as part of their team. Jay's mum deserves a medal for raising a son who knows what mum's version of clean is and knowing how to achieve it! Highly recommended The Navigation!!!! Parking, views of the canal, lots of different areas to sit, so you can be as sociable or as friendly as you like. Warm welcome, beers kept to perfection! Clean toilets too!
