About This Pub
Ah, The Navigation – it's one of those pubs in Stockport that you might stumble upon and think, 'This could be a right cosy spot for a chat and a pint.' From what I've gathered from the chats around, it's got that homely warmth with an unexpected outdoor area out the back, which is brilliant for when the weather's on your side. The beers, especially from local favourites like Beartown, are a real highlight, and it's all at a moderate price that won't break the bank. Plus, if you're into a bit of sport or a game of darts, it's got you covered for a relaxed evening. But, let's be straight, it's not all sunshine and roses – I've heard tales of it getting a bit lively with some of the regulars, where things can escalate into arguments or even scuffles, making it hard to enjoy a peaceful drink. The place does look a tad worn out now, and service can drag on because of the bar's layout, meaning you might be waiting longer than you'd like. Oh, and if you're not fond of dogs bounding around, that could be a nuisance. All in all, it's a mixed bag, but if you're up for a genuine local experience with its ups and downs, it's worth popping in – just keep your wits about you and you'll have a decent time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
It's got a warm and homely feel, with a lovely outdoor area that's perfect for a summer pint.
-
They offer good value for money, especially with their selection of beers from local brewers like Beartown.
-
A welcoming spot for casual drinks, with sports on the screens and darts for a bit of fun if you're in the mood.
Cons
-
The atmosphere can turn a bit rowdy at times, with some regulars getting overly aggressive and starting trouble.
-
It feels quite run-down and shabby these days, which takes away from the overall experience.
-
Service can be slow due to the awkward bar layout, and there are issues with dogs running about, which isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Worst pub ypu could possibly step foot in , will allow there regulars to start fights and assault customers , rude , over aggressive atmosphere , can't sit for a peaceful drink as regulars are served when there beyond drunk amd start trouble with the people around them , everyone is in everybody's business and bar staff will defend regular customers even when there the ones causing the chaos , couldn't pay me enough to step foot in this establishment
A run down and rather shabby locals pub with dogs running amok, jumping on seats etc. Gone are the award winning days for this pub. Just one Beartown beer, Kodiak Gold when I visited. Service from landlord was OK. Wouldn't bother again though. Time's ticking for this one I suspect, but you never know..?
It has improved a fair amount since the new owners but service can be a bit slow — I guess because of the sort of awkward layout of the bar, and staff just not seeing you as a consequence
A locals pub, homely with an unexpected outdoor area out the back. Great stop off after a lengthy walk around stockport centre. Never been in before despite living in the area for more than 10years, had to ring the bell and the landlord let us in Great atmosphere sports available on screens, darts board and pool table in there too. I would like to go back there.
Good value, warm surroundings, and great beer selection from Congleton brewer, Beartown. Licencees have been in place for ten years now. Multi roomed, and with beer garden to rear. Good place.
