About This Pub
Ah, The Moon Under Water, it's one of those reliable Wetherspoon haunts that just gets it right more often than not. From what I've gathered chatting about places like this, the staff really stand out; they're friendly, chatty sorts who make you feel like you're catching up with old mates while they sort your order. The food's a highlight too – whether it's a hearty breakfast to kick off the day or a massive mixed grill that leaves you stuffed, it's all tasty and comes out surprisingly fast, even on busy evenings. And let's not forget how spotless everything is; it's nice to pop in and find clean tables and well-stocked loos, which adds to that comfortable vibe. Plus, it's got this understated charm with a bit of local history tied to the area, like the Titanic connections, that gives it a unique feel. On the flip side, though, some of the seating can be a bit off – those booth seats are lower than you'd expect, which might make for an awkward sit if you're there for a longer session. And it does get lively at peak times, so if you're after a serene spot, you might have to time your visit just right. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint or a bite; I'd say it's worth popping in for the good times it delivers, warts and all.
Pros and Cons

The pub stays spotlessly clean, from the tables to the toilets, which makes for a comfortable and hassle-free visit.
-
It's got a lovely atmosphere, peaceful without any rowdy interruptions, and there's even some interesting local history to soak in while you're there.
-
As a Wetherspoon spot, it's brilliantly affordable, so you can enjoy a good meal and drinks without breaking the bank.
Cons
-
Some of the seating, like those booth seats, can be a bit awkwardly low to the ground, which might leave you feeling a tad uncomfortable after a while.
-
It can get quite busy at times, though the service holds up well, it might mean a bit of a wait if you're after a quieter spot.

Very fast food service considering it was quite busy with loads of full table spaces. Table was cleaned before putting the plates on it. The food servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. The pub was kept clean considering it was busy. No hassle of drunks or loud drinkers.
Not too busy, room was tidy, toilets were clean and well stocked. Food came quickly and was tasty, chips were extra nice 😋
First time eating in here. Pleasantly suprised. Food was flavoursome and the staff were all happy and a pleasure to be around
Popped in for brekkie before our drive back home to Surrey. Lovely little spoons. The booth seats are oddly very low to the ground. Had the breakfast fiesta, which was delish. 🥳. Interesting history surrounding this building and area regarding the titanic.
One of my favourite local pubs. Really friendly staff, great food and lovely atmosphere. Visit most Saturday afternoons and never disappointed.
