About This Pub

Ah, Everest Cottage Bar and Grill – it's one of those neighbourhood pubs that really grows on you if you're after a relaxed evening out. From what I've gathered from folks' chats online, the food stands out as a real winner; think hearty, flavoursome dishes that won't set you back much, making it ideal for a casual catch-up with mates. The staff are generally chummy and make you feel right at home, and grabbing a decent pint feels like a proper British tradition. On the flip side, it's not all smooth sailing – service can drag on a bit, leaving you twiddling your thumbs, and there are tales of staff not always being in the cheeriest spirits, which might put a slight dampener on things. Oh, and keep an eye on those glasses; they're not always as spotless as you'd hope. All in all, it's got that community vibe going for it, especially since it's under new management and showing signs of improvement, so if you're in Dudley, it's worth popping in for a try – just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a good time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food here is spot on – plenty of tasty options that offer great value for money, perfect for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.
  • Friendly staff make you feel welcome, adding a nice, homely touch to your visit.
  • You can always count on a decent pint; it's a classic British pub experience that hits the spot.
  • The place seems clean and well-kept, which makes it a comfortable spot to relax in.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit slow at times, which might leave you waiting longer than you'd like for your drinks or food.
  • Some staff don't always seem in the best mood, which can dampen the atmosphere a little.
  • Glasses aren't always as clean as they'd ought to be, which is a shame for such a straightforward thing.

Nice people that frequent the pub but the glasses are often dirty and some of the staff don't seem happy to be there. Service is painfully slow. . It's recently been taken over and it seems there's good going to be served. Maybe it'll improve. The tasters provided were very good.
