About This Pub

Ah, The Mitre in Holland Park – it's one of those places that just draws you in with its charm. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is a real highlight; they've got these seasonal menus packed with fresh British ingredients that make every meal feel special, whether you're opting for the Prix Fixe deal or something more substantial. The atmosphere is spot on too – imagine sinking into a cosy corner with a pint or a glass of wine, chatting away in that leafy part of London. The team behind the bar and in the kitchen are proper legends, always going the extra mile to make you feel welcome, like when they threw in a free Prosecco for a birthday treat. But, let's keep it real, it's not perfect; there have been a few slip-ups with orders getting mixed up, and some folks mentioned dishes not quite balancing out as expected. Still, with such a solid overall rating and plenty of positive vibes from recent visits, I'd say it's well worth a go for anyone looking for a good night out – just pop in with an open mind and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
  • The food is top-notch, with seasonal British ingredients and innovative menus that really hit the spot for food lovers.
  • It's got a cosy, welcoming atmosphere in the heart of Holland Park, perfect for a relaxed evening or special occasions.
  • They offer great deals like the new Prix Fixe menu and specials for events, plus it's dog-friendly and has a good vibe for watching the game.
Cons
  • There can be the odd mix-up with orders, like getting the wrong dish, which might put a dampener on things if you're in a rush.
  • Some dishes might not quite live up to expectations, such as the fish and chips being a bit heavy on the breading.
  • Service can have distractions at times, so it might not always be as smooth as you'd hope in a busy spot.

Stopped by The Mitre Holland Park for a casual drink with a friend and ended up having an absolutely wonderful evening! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and charm. Karina, who looked after us, was simply outstanding, attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. She made sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. Her service truly elevated our experience! The menu is a delight, offering something for everyone, from tasty light bites to satisfying dinner options. Everything was well-presented and delicious. Drinks were perfectly chilled and expertly served, adding to the relaxing vibe of the night. The atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy, with great music playing in the background and a beautiful layout that feels both stylish and comfortable. It’s the kind of place you walk into for a quick drink and end up staying longer than planned. If you’re in the area or just looking for a top-tier pub experience in London, The Mitre Holland Park is an absolute must-visit. We’ll definitely be back, and asking for Karina again!

I went with my girlfriend for dinner on Thursday, May 29th. It was my first trip to the UK, and we were able to enjoy delicious food at this restaurant, as well as Prachi's wonderful hospitality, making for a comfortable stay. I'd definitely like to visit this restaurant again when I travel to the UK.

A good pub, but where one can also have quite a rich selection of typical English food, and, needless to say, very good beers. The service is kind and very friendly, although with some distractions. I ordered a dish of Sunday roast beef, and I got lamb. However, when I pointed out the mistake, without making any complaint because the lamb was good, the waitress made her best and brought me an additional two nice slices of roast beef, no extra charge. I appreciated their gravy for the roast meat and the horseradish sauce, but unfortunately they had run out of bread sauce. So, overall the outcome was quite good: the food is good and the service is very friendly and nice, despite some inaccuracy in taking the orders. And a miss for the bread sauce..

Visited for my 32nd birthday. David was an exceptional waiter, even gave me a free glass of Prosecco to celebrate my birthday, how lovely. Friendly and polite! We went for a variety of small plates to share, food was very very tasty, and we are big big foodies! Highly recommend. 5 minute walk from Holland Park, outside and indoor seating. Kids menu available, great sizes and priced well. Thank you very much, will be coming back!!

Visited the other evening with some friends visiting. Some got the fish and chips which were fine, but they were a lot heavier on the breading than fish. Another got the roasted squash and chickpea salad and added steak which they said was delicious. The interior was beautiful and it had a good atmosphere. If I were to go back I would want to go to attend their quiz night or live music night!
