About This Pub

Ah, The Millstone – it's one of those pubs that just warms your heart the moment you step inside. I've heard from folks who've been there that the owner and staff go out of their way to make everyone feel like part of the gang, chatting away and creating that real community spirit. The karaoke nights sound like an absolute riot, with talented singers and a buzzing crowd that keeps the energy high, even on a quiet Wednesday. And let's not forget the traditional setup; it's got all those lovely original features that give it a cosy, shabby chic feel, making it perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates. On the flip side, it does tend to fill up quickly, so you might have to jostle for a spot, and the opening times can be a tad unpredictable, which might put a dampener on plans for a late one. All in all, though, it's a solid choice if you're after a friendly, down-to-earth pub experience in Manchester – just pop in and see for yourself!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff and owner are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the get-go.
  • It has a lively atmosphere, especially with the fantastic karaoke sessions that draw in some brilliant singers.
  • The pub keeps its traditional charm with original features like tiles, wooden floors, and brickwork, giving it a sympathetically done-up shabby chic vibe.
  • It's buzzing even on weekdays, creating a great sense of community and making it a top spot for a casual night out.
Cons
  • It can get quite packed, particularly during events like karaoke, which might make it tricky to snag a seat.
  • The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent based on what's listed, so it's worth double-checking to avoid disappointment if you're planning a late visit.

Went here about 3pm on a Thursday & it was great. Landlord came over & said hello welcoming us to the pub. Had karaoke going on with some really good singers. Bar staff all friendly & chatting to customers. Probably one of the most friendly pubs I've been in a long time.

Another traditional old style pub done up sympathetically in a shabby chic style. I liked that they have kept some of the original features such as tiles, wooden floors, and brickwork. Surprisingly big with 3 floors, worth a visit if you're around that area.
