About This Pub
You know, when I think about The Midland Hotel in Hemel Hempstead, it's got that genuine local charm that makes it a nice spot to pop into for a drink or a bite. The Sunday roasts are spot on – piping hot and packed with flavour, and I've heard the Thai food is an absolute steal, way better than what you'd get at the chains for the price. The staff are always cheerful and up for a laugh, and it's brilliant that they welcome dogs, so you can bring the whole family along. On the other hand, it's a bit of a mixed bag; some folks have had disappointing times with events not living up to the hype, and there've been a few stories about unfair goings-on that leave a sour taste. All in all, it's worth checking out if you're nearby, but I'd say go in with your eyes open and keep expectations realistic – it's got heart, but it's not perfect every time.
Pros and Cons

The Sunday roast is a real treat – it's hot, tasty, and absolutely delicious, perfect for a hearty meal.
-
Their Thai food is unbelievable, better than the big chains and at an insanely low price, making it a brilliant bargain.
-
The bar staff are super friendly and jovial, always up for a chat and making you feel right at home.
-
It's dog-friendly, which is great if you're popping in with your four-legged mate for a relaxed pint.
-
The atmosphere is just like a classic local boozer, full of locals enjoying themselves in a down-to-earth way.
Cons
-
Some events, like New Year's Eve, can be a letdown with promises that don't match up, leaving you feeling short-changed.
-
There have been reports of unfair treatment at the door, which is pretty upsetting and can spoil the experience.
-
The overall vibe can be inconsistent, with some visits being spot on and others falling flat unexpectedly.

Good friendly service. A real treat. Thank you
Bought 4 tickets for new years eve and when we got there there was nobody checking tickets and everyone was just walking in without paying and was told on the phone when we rung up there would be a really popular band and it was one man. Very disappointing. Would not go again.
A hidden gem for Thai food. The atmosphere is your average local pub with a couple of regulars, however even for non pub goers if you can eat here I recommend you do it. The Thai food is unbelievable, better than the chains, at an insanely low price, it is a steal. Could not recommend enough.
If you're after a down to earth boozer packed with locals enjoying themselves then this is the place.
