About This Pub
Ah, The Merry Widows – it's one of those unassuming pubs that just hits the spot for a quick drink without any fuss. From what I've gathered from folks' thoughts, the staff really shine here; they're super welcoming and make you feel like you're catching up with old mates, which is always a treat. The location's spot on if you're travelling through Derby, as it's just opposite the station, ideal for nipping in for a cold beer or a cheeky shot while you wait for your next train. Prices are fair too, so you can enjoy a pint without worrying about the wallet. On the flip side, it's a small, compact place, which means it might not wow everyone – some have said it's just average, without any standout features or extras to make it memorable. Still, if you're after a no-nonsense spot with a vintage charm and a laid-back vibe, it's worth a visit. Overall, it's a reliable little gem that does the basics brilliantly, but it might not be the place for a big night out if you're seeking more excitement.

Called in for a quick drink between trains. So welcoming and lovely staff. Really reasonable prices too. Meeting Harry Canine was an added bonus. Thank you.
Awesome pub. They will serve anyone no judgement. Brilliant little pub, amazing staff, ea welcome but cold beer 😁
Small and compact, good location opposite Derby train station.
Very welcoming.
Ideal for a traveller to trap a pint whilst waiting for train.
We stopped in for a beer whilst waiting for a train, it was an average pub.
This was a fantastic pub to go drinking at, located conveniently near the train station with a vintage entrance! The bar is well-presented, the images on the wall add to the place and the staff were friendly. I had Desperados and a shot, situated on leather seating at a clean table!
