About This Pub

Ah, The Manor House at Quorn – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local favourite, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food's a real standout; think delicious classics and fresh seasonal dishes whipped up by talented chefs using local goodies, which always makes for a satisfying meal. The service is spot on too – even when it's packed to the rafters, the team keeps everything running smoothly and treats you with real warmth, which is no small feat. It's brilliant for all sorts of dos, whether it's a wedding bash or just meeting up with mates, and they've got some lovely rooms if you're fancying a stay. On the flip side, there have been a few niggles, like the roasties not being as crispy as they'd like, or missing out on a special Sunday menu that some folks expect. Still, overall, it's a solid spot for a good time out – just pop in with an open mind, and you're in for a treat most of the time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely brilliant, with classic dishes and seasonal specials made from locally sourced ingredients that really hit the spot.
  • Service is top-notch, even when the pub's buzzing with people – the team handles everything smoothly and makes you feel right at home.
  • It's a fantastic spot for events like weddings or group get-togethers; they manage large crowds with ease and keep things organised and enjoyable.
  • The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal or a special occasion, and they've got lovely bedrooms if you're looking to stay over.
Cons
  • Occasionally, some dishes might not quite live up to expectations, like those soggy roasties that one person mentioned – a small thing, but noticeable.
  • They don't always have a dedicated special menu for Sundays, which could leave you wanting more options if you're after something specific like a set lunch deal.
  • It can get incredibly busy at times, which might mean a bit of a wait, even though the staff do their best to keep things flowing.

Excellent Sunday Lunch (maybe the roasties could have been a little less soggy ), apart from that it was another satisfying visit to the Manor. Place was very busy when we arrived, but this did not have a negative impact on the service. Matt looked after us from start to finish, always appearing at the right time to deal with our requirements. Well done to the entire team who have contributed to the Manors 20 years of excellence.

Had dinner in the restaurant on a sunny Friday evening. It was incredibly busy, but the service was flawless and the food very good. The staff were all young in their 20s, but you’d think they had decades of experience in top end London restaurants the way they managed a full house of covers whilst remembering to smile and engage despite being so busy. A really enjoyable meal and look forward to next time.

We attended my nieces wedding here. Wow! From start to finish everything was well timed, very organised and beautifully presented. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. The room was set out lovely. The staff were all very polite and worked very . hard. Best wedding reception I have ever attended. Well done to all the staff and management. We didn't stay in the rooms, so can't comment on them.

35 of us were going by coach to visit Taylor’s Bell Foundry to see our church bells being refurbished and we needed somewhere for lunch on the way. I contacted the Manor who said they could accommodate us as a group despite us only having just over an hour between arriving and having to depart. The Manor was great at communicating with quick responses to any questions and acknowledgment of our preorder with any last minute changes. So we arrived at the Manor today to a very warm welcome, we were all served drinks then as requested, 35 hot meals all arrived promptly. The lunches were lovely, great quality, tasty and everyone really enjoyed it. All the staff were so lovely, big smiles, helpful and very professional. I honestly can’t fault the Manor and if I could, I’d give them 6 stars. Thank you all you really made our day.

I came with my family to a Easter Lunch yesterday 20th April & was surprised that there was not a what I call as Table d'hote menu as in a 3 course special Sunday lunch menu available, so we had the main menu only for a Sunday Lunch which included a Sunday Roast Dishes which was fine. Now, bearing in mind I was in hospitality a good few years ago now as a Chef, so I know what I'm talking about here. Because your Sunday Roast Dishes are far too large a portion for most customers of your restaurant & for me. So I had decided to have a child's portion of a Sunday roast which the portion size was just fine for me. You may want to give it a go to give the customer a choice of a large Sunday Roast or a Standard Size Sunday Roast & reduce the price accordingly on the Standard Size Sunday Roast. Not everyone wants large portion sizes !! it will also cut down on food waste too !! with foods left on the plate due to its portion size. My child size portion Chicken Roast Dish arrived after my first course of the soup of the day which was presented to me with a very flat Yorkshire pudding which incidentally I did not want.(need to ask the question at point of ordering if I would like one or not, stops food waste again ! ) So we move on to the remainder of the dish and the Chicken breast was fine & well cooked, However my roast potato's were black & overcooked together the vegetables of the same, over cooked & not crunchy vegetables which is the way they should be cooked ! So to that end I suggest you have conversations with your Chef's on how to improve on the customer experience at The Manor Quorn. Finally, the ladies that took our orders & served us our meals were very good at what they did for us during our time at the Manor in Quorn.
