About This Pub
Ah, the Quorndon Fox – it's one of those classic country pubs that just feels like a proper gem in the East Midlands, with its historical roots going back to 1740 and that welcoming village vibe. From what I've gathered from the reviews and a quick peek at their site, folks are really raving about the food; think beautifully presented dishes like pork belly with apple bonbon or a stunning mango and passionfruit pavlova that sounds like a dessert dream. The service stands out too – servers like Vicky or that lovely lass with dark hair and glasses are making sure everyone has a great time, whether it's for a birthday bash or a casual lunch. It's spacious, with gorgeous gardens for sunnier days and cosy fires for when the weather turns, and being dog-friendly means you can pop in after a countryside stroll without a worry. But, to keep it real, there was that one grumble about skimpy portions for the price – paying over £30 for what felt like not much on the plate left one person a bit disappointed and vowing not to return. Overall, with a solid 4.5 rating from heaps of reviews, it's a top pick if you're after good food and a relaxed atmosphere, just maybe check the menu prices first to set your expectations right.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, with hearty favourites and seasonal dishes that really hit the spot.
-
The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, going the extra mile to make you feel at home – think attentive service with a smile.
-
It's got a lovely, spacious atmosphere with beautiful gardens and crackling log fires, perfect for relaxing after a walk in the countryside.
-
A great selection of drinks, including cask ales, fine wines, and British gins, plus it's dog-friendly which is a real bonus for us dog lovers.
-
The pub has a rich history and is in a charming village location, making it a great spot for a bite and a chat.
Cons
-
Portion sizes can be a bit on the small side for the price, like one person mentioned barely enough meat and chips for what they paid.
-
It might feel a tad overpriced in spots, especially if you're expecting more bang for your buck on the food front.

We had lunch at The Quorndon Fox this afternoon, 4 adults 2 children and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented and sorry I didn't get the girls name who served us but she was really genuine and lovely ( dark hair with glasses) .
I highly recommend this place and will definitely return if we're in the area again.
Our compliments to the chefs , first class food.
Had the most wonderful time here, Vicky made sure we had amazing service & Was so welcoming and friendly. The food was incredible and the mango and passionfruit Pavlova for dessert Is a 10 out of 10!!!
We celebrated my sister's 21st birthday here. The bartender was an absolute gem, she was one person taking care of 22 people's drinks order serving them with a smile and quickly!
The food was incredible, highly recommend the pork belly with the apple bonbon. Everyone ended up ordering something different but that didn't matter much because by the end of it, we were all sharing plates describing how delicious the food was.
The waiter was kind and friendly, and very attentive to our requests. The team were extremely considerate and added to the experience of the special day!
The establishment is clean, comfortable, and very inviting. I would definitely recommend stopping in here for a dinner or a quick pint!
well when you go for dinner you would expect a nice plate of food. good portion size. i paid £30.50 for what can only be decribed as “more meat on a butchers pencil” and 6 chips.
not impressed and wont be going back.
Went here for lunch and the food was really nice. Lovely atmosphere and very spacious. Good selection of drinks.
