About This Pub

Ah, South End Green Social – what a lovely little find in the heart of London! From what I've gathered from folks who've been there, it's got this warm, inviting feel that makes you want to settle in for the afternoon. The food is a real highlight; imagine tucking into a delicious pasta of the day or a mouthwatering tart with broccoli, gorgonzola, and walnuts – it's all about those fresh, flavoursome dishes that leave you smiling. Pair that with the chatty staff who go out of their way to make everything run smoothly, and you've got a spot that's perfect for catching up with mates over a meal. The bright, airy space with its big windows adds to the charm, making it feel light and cheerful even on a grey day. On the downside, though, the portions aren't always as generous as you'd hope, especially with the roasts, which might feel a bit light for the cost if you're not catching a special. And if you're keen on exploring a broader wine list, it might come across as a touch limited, steering you more towards the brews, which, to be fair, is their forte. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed outing, but keeping an eye on those deals will help you get the most out of it – honest, balanced advice from one enthusiast to another!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, with standout dishes like the pasta of the day, scrumptious tarts, and hearty burgers that really hit the spot.
  • The staff are friendly, chatty, and efficient, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's a warm and cosy spot with beautiful, bright interiors and big windows that let in plenty of light, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • They offer great value with specials like the Sunday roast deal, which makes it a brilliant choice for a relaxed meal without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • Portion sizes can be a bit on the small side, especially for things like the roast, which might leave you wanting more for the price.
  • The wine menu is quite limited, so if you're after a wide selection, it might not quite satisfy the more discerning tastes.
  • Some dishes feel a tad pricey without the specials, so it's worth checking for deals before you go.

Had 2 dishes, pasta of the day and bruchetta - both delicious. Lovely bar staff and beautiful bright premises.

What a warm and cozy little gem on a cold, grey day! The spicy, piping hot mulled wine thawed my frozen fingers whilst I read through the menu. Shepherd's pie - food for the soul as well as the tummy - was my choice, and it was delicious! Kudos to the staff who are friendly, chatty and efficient. 💞

We took advantage of the £5 Sunday roast offer (if you spend £10 pp on drinks) which made it great value, otherwise (at £17 for beef, £13.50 for veggie) the roast would have been very expensive for the portion size. Two small roast potatoes is not enough. However the vegetarian nut roast (vegan friendly) was delicious as was all the accompanying veg and gravy. Friendly service. Dog friendly venue. Massive wine selection. The main food menu also looks to be extensive with plenty of veggie options

I had the best tart in my life: sprouting broccoli, gorgonzola & walnut tart, dresses leaves. My friends has burgers with chips and some salad. They all looked great and tasted just as good. Prices are medium range and the service was great. Great views, big windows with lots of light. Definitely recommend.

Warm and friendly wine bar, limited wine menu but intriguing, great cheese selection though. Great if you live in the area.
