About This Pub
Ah, The Lounge Blyth – what a lovely little find if you're after a proper cosy pub experience up north. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this warm, welcoming vibe that just draws you in; the owner goes out of their way to make newcomers feel at ease, which is a breath of fresh air compared to some places where you're just another face in the crowd. Their own brewed beers, especially that Ozzy pint, come highly recommended – it's clear folks are raving about the quality and variety, including some cracking ciders that pair perfectly with the relaxed setting. The place is decked out with album covers and a classic rock soundtrack, making it feel like a proper haven for a chilled evening. On the flip side, it does have its quirks; with opening times starting around 3 PM and wrapping up by 10 or 11 PM, it's not ideal if you're an early bird or want a late-night spot. Plus, being on the smaller side, it might not be the best for big gatherings, but that's what gives it that intimate, community feel. Overall, it's got a stellar 4.8 rating, and from the recent feedback, most people are coming away chuffed, though one or two mentioned it's more suited to a quiet catch-up rather than a boisterous night out. If you're in the area, I'd say it's well worth a visit for a pint and a chat – just plan around those hours and you'll have a cracking time!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff and owner are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of their own brewed beers, like the Ozzy, which is a real standout – perfect for beer enthusiasts.
-
It's a cosy and relaxing spot with a great vibe, ideal for unwinding after a long day, and it's spotlessly clean and comfortable.
-
The atmosphere is warm and not too overwhelming, with friendly locals who are chatty without being overbearing.
-
Dog-friendly too, which is brilliant if you're out with your furry friends, adding to that welcoming community feel.
Cons
-
It only opens in the afternoon, around 3 PM, so it's not the best choice if you're looking for a spot to pop into earlier in the day.
-
Being a small micro pub, it might feel a bit cramped if you're with a larger group, though that's part of its charm.
-
The music and vibe are more relaxed and classic rock-oriented, which might not suit everyone if you're after something more lively or upbeat.

Lovely cosy pub, ran by a fab couple. Love their own brewed beers. The Ozzy is a cracking pint. Lots of nice ciders on too. Relaxed atmosphere, nice vibe & not too loud.
Great micro pub, excellent selection of beer and cider, fabulous atmosphere, would highly recommend a visit if in the area.
Lovely, cosy, friendly small pub. Good selection of ciders , draft beer (Ozzy and Pretty Vacant) and bottled selection. Music classic rock? Walls adorned with album covers and one guitar. Very clean and comfortable throughout.
Fantastic place, small but perfectly formed microbrewery, we went in Saturday and Sunday with our two Border Terriers and had an amazing time, best pint around also best pub by a long way, staff and drinkers all so friendly, big thanks to all 👏👏👏
