About This Pub

You know, when you step into the Robin Hood and Little John, it's like stepping back in time to a proper old-school pub that's been given a fresh lease of life. I love how they've got this incredible lineup of real ales on offer – 20 hand pulls, no less! – with plenty from Lincoln Green and some cracking guests that always keep things interesting. It's clear from the rave reviews that folks really appreciate the atmosphere; it's warm, inviting, and they've even got a sun terrace for enjoying a pint outdoors on a nice day. Being dog-friendly and family-oriented makes it a versatile spot for all sorts of get-togethers, and the live music and quiz nights add that extra buzz. On the flip side, though, it's not all perfect – there've been a few mentions of service not quite hitting the mark, like when someone had a grumpy encounter at the bar, which is a shame because the staff are generally spot on with their recommendations. Little things like the toilets needing a bit more attention crop up too, but honestly, these don't overshadow the good times. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone after a quality pint and a chat, just keep in mind it might have an off moment here and there.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Fantastic selection of real ales with 20 hand pulls, featuring Lincoln Green brews and guests from all over – perfect for ale enthusiasts!
  • Lovely historic atmosphere in a building dating back to 1726, now beautifully revived and full of character.
  • Really welcoming vibe, being dog-friendly, family-friendly, and with outdoor seating and a sun terrace for those sunny days.
  • Great events like live music and quiz nights, plus it's won awards such as CAMRA's Pub of the Year, which speaks volumes.
Cons
  • Occasional dips in customer service, like that one review where the bar staff seemed a bit off, which can put a damper on things.
  • Minor niggles with facilities, such as the lack of certain toiletries, that might not ruin the visit but are worth noting.

Absolutely love this pub, always a good selection of ales to choose from, all bar staff are amazing (Jade expecially as i can guarantee she will know what beer we will like). Love the new cheese and onion cobs. 👍 Never had a bad experience. Only down side is the lack of pears soap in the toilet 😅

A proper real ale pub with a large selection of different tipples, mainly from Lincoln Green Brewery. Not discounting the many guest ales they regularly have up on a delightful board and across both the lounge & bar areas. If Real Ale isn’t your bag or it’s just not cutting it on a hot day, there’s many a choice of what ever beverage takes your fancy. Also whatever the weather, there’s plenty of different seating areas including both a covered heated skittle alley and a fantastic rooftop terrace to enjoy those rare days of sun!

Came here a few weeks back. Was excited to visit as it's very local and wanted to check out the rooftop terrace. We asked for a beer and a glass of wine. The barmaid didn't seem happy and seemed a but annoyed about something. She couldn't open the wine. She had no customer service skills and didn't smile at all. My mum kindly asked "Is the terrace open?" She snapped "Course it is! Why wouldn't it be?" The wine came to over £8 a glass. The toilets were blocked with tissue and dirty. We heard the bar maid screaming at someone on the phone swearing. A very unpleasant experience. Ripped off and very poor customer service. Go elsewhere. A shame as its a local.
