About This Pub

Ah, The Long Haul – it's one of those hidden gems that really makes you appreciate a proper local pub. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff and owner go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, and the chat with the regulars can turn a quick stop into a full evening. The beers and ciders are top drawer, with a focus on local options that change up frequently, and it's brilliant that you can nip next door for some food to go with it. On the downside, the hours listed look a tad muddled, and without a website, it's not the easiest place to plan a visit around. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the high ratings speak for themselves, but maybe double-check those opening times first.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff and owner are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of beers and ciders, especially local brews that change regularly – it's a real treat for anyone who loves a good pint.
  • The atmosphere is spot on for a cosy chat with locals; it's won pub of the year twice, and you can see why it's such a hit.
  • You can pair your drinks with food from a nearby spot, like Seafoods, which adds a nice touch without the hassle.
Cons
  • The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent from what's listed, which might leave you scratching your head about when to pop in.
  • There's no website or online presence to speak of, so it's trickier to check details or get updates before heading over.
  • Not many recent reviews in the last six months, which makes me wonder if it's as buzzing as it used to be.

Great atmosphere, even better beer and cider. Highly recommended. They've won pub of the year 2 years running, and it's utterly deserved!

Now this little pub is a gem. From the owner, to the staff, and the friendly locals. We never fail to have a good time. Great selection of beers and cider. Also a few top shelf options. It’s very difficult to just have a quick drink. As once you get talking. You end up staying until closing time.

My wife liked the decoration and her wine I liked the Gadds No 5 from the Ramsgate brewery. I was also recommended the "Dreamland" as a take out which was a good call. Not sure of the brewery but it tasted good. The bar felt friendly, warm and local, keep up the good work

Lovely place for some local beers. Very welcoming owners and they have a fantastic set up with “Seafoods” a few doors down where you can order and bring in their food. The beers change frequently and always try and source locally. Will definitely be back!
