About This Pub
Ah, The Lock Inn – it's one of those places that really grows on you if you catch it on a good day. I've got to say, the team there are an absolute treat; they're so welcoming and make you feel like you're part of the gang, which is just what you want from a local pub. Perched by the canal, it's ideal for a sunny afternoon pint or a cheeky cocktail, and the positive buzz from folks about the drinks and overall feel is spot on. On the flip side, though, service isn't always reliable – you might find yourself waiting a while, and it's a shame because that can dampen the spirits a bit. The interior's a bit no-frills, more functional than fancy, so if you're dreaming of a snug, traditional spot, it might not quite deliver. Still, it's got that community charm, and for a casual meet-up, it's worth a visit. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're in the area, but keep in mind it has its ups and downs, just like any good pub yarn.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – they're friendly, welcoming, and really make you feel at home, like chatting with old mates behind the bar.
-
It's got a cracking location right by the canal, which is just perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying a drink outdoors on a nice day.
-
The cocktails are spot on, with plenty of praise for their quality and the cheerful service that comes with them.
-
The atmosphere is generally lively and upbeat, making it a great spot for a casual get-together with friends.
Cons
-
Service can be a bit hit or miss; sometimes it takes ages to get served, which might leave you waiting around when you'd rather be relaxing.
-
The inside doesn't quite live up to the charm, feeling more like a basic warehouse than a cosy pub, so it might not be the best for indoor vibes.
-
There have been a few grumbles about drink quality not always being up to par, like with some soft drinks that didn't hit the mark.
-
It can feel a tad lacking in energy on quieter nights, especially if you're after a buzzing Friday evening out.

Oh dear….for a Friday night the place was pretty devoid of fun.
It was the kind of day that passes for summer, so I was sat outside. It was a good thing really because the inside resembled a warehouse more than pleasant place to drink.
The staff were non existent, and it took FOREVER to get served because they were hiding in the back. There were a couple in front of me that just gave up. I was thirsty and desperate so had to dig deep for patience.
As a place to hang out outside on a summers day, it was great but genuinely felt like it was in its last legs.
Only wanted a couple of cokes. First ones served were so awful. When asked for second ones they weren’t drinkable either. Couldn’t be bothered to ask again as the member of staff clearly didn’t want to be there.
The best place, it feels like utopia! Pietro is the best bar man, makes you feel welcome and entertained. I’m so glad this place exists. Also so beautiful by the canal!
Absolutely lovely staff friendly and never a long wait at the bar !!! Nice vibes and good location. Definitely a must to go to !!!
Amazing staff, friendly, excellent cocktails all complimented by a smile
