About This Pub

Ah, The Little Ale House is one of those hidden gems in Bromsgrove that you'd tell your mates about over a pint – it's got this great selection of real ales, ciders, and lagers that are spot on, with fair prices that won't leave you out of pocket. The landlord's a proper friendly sort, always up for a chat, which really adds to the welcoming feel, and they've got live music every now and then to liven things up. It's clear from the buzz around the place that it's popular with the crowd, and it's heartening to see a small independent spot holding its own on the high street. On the flip side, though, that fluorescent lighting is a bit of a letdown – it can make the whole space feel stark and less inviting, like you're in a waiting room rather than a snug pub. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed drink if you're in the area, but you'd probably want to pop in during the daytime or suggest they swap those bulbs for something warmer to make it even better.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • A cracking selection of local and national real ales, ciders, and lagers that really hits the spot for ale enthusiasts.
  • The landlord's engaging and welcoming manner makes you feel right at home, like chatting with an old mate.
  • A warm atmosphere with occasional live music and fair prices that keep things accessible and enjoyable.
  • It's a brilliant little spot supporting a small high street business, with competitive prices and a good buzz from the locals.
Cons
  • The harsh fluorescent lighting can make it feel a bit clinical and less relaxing, which is a real shame for unwinding.
  • Only open five days a week, so it might not be ideal if you're looking for a spontaneous mid-week pint.

This is a great pub with only one issue - the horrible white fluorescent lighting. I'd be in there everyday but I just cant relax under hospital lights! If you read this please please consider changing the bulbs to something warmer it would be a massive improvement.

I only ever Pop in briefly between waiting for buses. Good to see a small business keeping going in the high street. Good selection of ales at competitive prices. This business is well worth a visit.
