About This Pub

Ah, The Lion – it's one of those pubs that just grabs you with its genuine, no-nonsense vibe, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' chats online, it's a proper gem for anyone who loves a bit of live music; the bands on weekends really crank up the energy and make the place buzz with excitement. The staff are spot on, always up for a laugh and making sure your pint is just right, and it's dead welcoming whether you're a local or just popping in for a pre-match drink. Prices are sensible too, so you won't break the bank, and that casual atmosphere is ideal for groups looking to unwind. On the flip side, it's not the tidiest spot – it has that worn-in look that some might find charming, but others could see as a downside. And if you're not into rock music or prefer paying with cards, you might notice a slight preference for cash, which can feel a tad old-school. All in all, if you're after an authentic pub experience with great tunes and friendly faces, it's well worth a visit, but go in with the right expectations and you'll have a brilliant time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The bar staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • Live music on weekends is a real highlight, with up-and-coming bands creating an electric atmosphere that's perfect for rock fans.
  • The beer is well-kept and the prices are spot on for a casual night out, plus it's got that welcoming vibe for both regulars and newcomers.
  • It's got a quirky, rock and biker-themed decor that adds to the charm, and it's dog-friendly, which is a lovely touch for pet owners.
Cons
  • The place can look a bit shabby and run-down, which might not appeal if you're after something more polished.
  • They seem to prefer cash payments, so you might get a funny look if you're relying on cards, which can be a bit of a hassle these days.

Brilliant pub a proper little gem in the heart of Cas. Brill atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The bar staff are friendly and helpful. Quirky, rock and biker decor. Definitely one to visit if you like your rock music. Great for live music creating a lively vibe. The beer—top quality , and excellent value for money. Whether you're popping in for a quick pint or settling in for an evening of tunes. Cash only but as long as you know that before no worries

Small pub that always has some sort of rock band on most weekends. It looks shabby and run down but it's loved by the crowd it attracts. Always try and pay with cash but will take contactless (with a glare!)
