About This Pub
Ah, The Glass Blower – it's one of those classic Spoons pubs that you can't help but appreciate for its straightforward charm. From what I've gathered chatting about it with others, the staff really stand out; they're efficient and always up for a friendly word, making it feel like a proper local spot rather than just another chain. The food's a winner too – think hearty breakfasts and a decent real ale that go down a treat, especially if you're after something simple and satisfying. Plus, that outdoor seating area is brilliant on a sunny day, giving you a bit of space to relax with your mates. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; some folks mention the portions feeling a bit skimpy, which can be a letdown when you're expecting that hearty pub fare. And the place does have that worn-in look, like it could use a bit of TLC to shake off the grime. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual catch-up or a quick stop-off, as long as you go in with realistic expectations – it's got the warmth and value that make it a favourite, but with a few niggles that keep it from being perfect.

Called in for some breakfast.
A comfy warm but busy 'Spoons' with quick service and friendly staff and the best hot food I've been served in Wetherspoons!...will certainly call again...
Had a pleasant breakfast at ‘the blower’ this morning. Portion sizes were on the small side, but the food was tasty and service quick and friendly.
An okay venue with decent enough food and service. Had the Tennessee Burger. Very popular and was almost full at 1130 on a Wednesday morning.
Could do with a refurbishment, as a bit grimy.
I didn't eat on this visit, but I did enjoy a very good real ale. Friendly staff prepared to chat with customers. Large outdoor seating area.
A good pub. Was busy on the Saturday we visited. We were on a bit of s mammoth 35 mile canal walk and this "Spoons" was a very welcome half-way pit stop. A typical Wetherspoons but we did comment that the staff were especially friendly and efficient. Food was if usual quality and there was a beer garden to the rest.
