About This Pub
Ah, The Lilley Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper English gem, tucked away in a lovely village spot. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this brilliant outdoor area that's a total winner for families, kids, and even your furry friends; imagine soaking up the sun with a cold pint after a nice stroll. The beer selection is spot on, and the food, like their homemade batter on the fish and chips, sounds absolutely delicious and won't set you back too much. It's clear the new owners have put in some effort, especially with plans to spruce up the garden even more. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – there was that one tale of a booking gone wrong with long waits and an oven issue, which could really put a dampener on things if you're planning a special occasion. Still, with an overall rating of 4.3, it's got that warm, welcoming charm that makes it worth a visit, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe avoid peak times for a smoother experience.

Brilliant outside space for the kids, good beer (side pocket just ran out however) and even better pub food. Pub dog running about, good English place.
Really like what the new owners have done with the place, especially the back beer garden area. The owner said he plans to put in hedging and eventually lay grass but it's a no brainer with it being a sun trap out the back. Perfect for a post (or mid) dog walk pint.
The start to a lovely pub garden. A real sun trap and doggy friendly.
Fish and chip dinner was delicious. Must be the home-made batter.
Very affordable for an end of week treat with the family
Booked my dad's bd for 12 people. Paid deposit and preordered meals. Waited 1 hour for my dad to arrive as he got confused, so not their fault, but then waited another 1hr 15 mins for food to be constantly told its being plated up. Then they said the oven was broken. By then we ran out of time and left. No communication just lies about how long food would be. Why not be honest?
Very informal pub in a lovely village setting. Popular with walkers. We had a local ale and crisps. Very welcome at the halfway point of a 5 mile circular walk.
