About This Pub
Ah, The Lighthouse – it's one of those places in Oxford that just feels like a proper hidden gem, doesn't it? I mean, picture this: you're settling in by the river with a beautifully crafted cocktail in hand, something like that black forest martini that's got everyone raving about its fruity, chocolaty warmth. The tapas is spot on too, with loads of variety and fresh ingredients that make sharing plates an absolute joy, and at prices that won't break the bank, especially if you catch those happy hour deals. The atmosphere is just lovely, all steampunk vibes and that relaxed riverside setting, perfect for a chilled evening or even a private do in their function room. But, let's be honest, it's not all smooth sailing – I've heard a few grumbles about the service not always being as engaging as it could be, and you might end up wanting a bit more to complement your meal, like an extra side to make the most of those flavoursome sauces. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.2, it's clear this place does a lot right, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after good drinks, tasty bites, and a bit of Oxford charm without the fuss.

We had cocktails and tapas here, cocktails were great and good value for money during happy hour. Tapas was lovely, lots of variety of dishes. Staff were really nice and helpful, especially Niall (we think that was his name) he was so helpful and couldn’t do more for us
Popped in here on the way to the station after a day out with my son as we had time before our train. So glad we did
I had the prawns and my son had Galician pork.
We also had sweet potato fries.
So good
Wish I got the bread too as the sauce from the prawns went to waste
Didn’t think it would be a good look if I swigged it from the dish
Service was great and even the music was right up my street.
This was a great restaurant for lunch, with plenty of menus available to browse the offerings! Speed was fine although the staff member was lacking in skills of dealing with people face to face, atmosphere is nice and relaxed by the stream. I enjoyed the spicy prawns dish with a Hot Chocolate, portion sizes are somewhat small however the leather seating was comfy.
I had the black forest martini and it was the best cocktail i ever had. It smelled like baking with my grandma and tasted complex, fruity and fresh and at the same time chocolaty and warm. I loved it and already recommended it to my best friend.
To quickly describe this place, if you're into a quick bite and a drink with some friends, this is clearly a good place to come. It has good tapas, good drinks, and great service at affordable prices, especially if you get the food at order two and pay for one offer.
I think the place can be appreciated most during the evening if you manage to get a seat, but it's a nice place to visit even during the day. We had a good experience here, so I recommend it.
