About This Pub
Ah, The Knights Sport Bar – it's one of those places in Barrow-in-Furness that you pop into for a casual evening and end up staying longer than planned, especially if you're into watching the match or belting out a tune at karaoke. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff can be an absolute highlight; folks like Millie are always on form with their warm smiles and top-notch service, and the bar team seems to keep things running smoothly most of the time. The venue itself has had a lovely refurb, staying clean and fresh, which really adds to that welcoming feel when you walk in. Plus, with a good range of drinks and plenty of screens for the big games, it's spot on for a fun night out with friends. But, and there's always a but, isn't there? Some experiences haven't been as rosy – a few reviewers mentioned staff being a bit short or interrupting chats, which can really take the edge off. Then there's the noise; the acoustics are pretty poor, making it feel echoey and overwhelming at times, and the furniture doesn't always match the modern setup, giving it an odd, mismatched vibe. Overall, it's worth a visit if you're up for a late one, but go in with your eyes open to the occasional hiccups – it's got heart, but it's not perfect, just like any good local spot.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff can be absolutely brilliant, like Millie with her constant smile and friendly chat, or Ryan and Harvey who keep the bar buzzing with their great teamwork.
-
It's a top spot for sports fans with loads of screens to catch the footy or rugby, and they do a cracking job with events like karaoke that really get the crowd going.
-
The place has been nicely refurbished, always spotless and smelling fresh, which makes for a welcoming atmosphere after a long day.
-
They've got a solid selection of beverages, perfect for settling in for the evening with mates.
Cons
-
Some staff members can come across as a bit rude or overly abrupt, like interrupting conversations or not handling situations well, which can spoil the fun.
-
The acoustics are a right pain – it's often tinny and noisy without any carpets or curtains to soften the sound, making it hard to have a proper chat.
-
The furniture feels a tad outdated, like those old working men's club tables that don't quite gel with the modern decor, which is a bit of a letdown.
-
There have been issues with things like not playing the commentary for big events, leading to disappointment on what should be exciting nights.

Millie is great at giving...service. Beautiful smile on all the time and great friendly face!
Ryan and Harvey are a brilliant combo behind the bar too; the vibe be vibing.
Super happy with the service.
small girl with shoulder length dark hair needs an attitude check. went in with my mum for my 21st, mum asked me what drink i wanted barely got the words out my mouth before she interrupted our conversation asking if i had ID after having just been in tailors for a cocktail. mum tried explaining to her that it’s my 21st, i was wearing a sash and had birthday posts all over facebook. she was having none of it. her attitude towards me and my mum was rude from the get go after we tried to be polite. went all the way back to mine to get my ID to go back in the knights with my friend. after seeing us get id’ed on the door by the bouncer, she then asked for ID again at the bar and was rude towards me AGAIN. this is why i avoid a barrow night out like the plague, rude disgusting staff who haven’t a clue in customer service and think because they’re serving people alcohol, that they have authority. cant walk in without getting hounded for your ID - she automatically assumed i wanted an alcoholic drink, could’ve only gone in for a J20🤣
We went to watch the rugby Grand Final in the Sports Bar, the staff were rude, they wouldn't put the commentary on for the game, and played loud music all day long. We had 1 pint and left disappointed and disgusted. We will never go back there
A great addition bringing back an old classic venue. Refurbished to a top quality and always clean and smelling fresh! Owners and staff are very friendly and always making sure everyone is happy. Karaoke always goes down well and a great selection of beverages. Lots of screens for the footy and to be enjoyed by families too! Definitely recommend if you want a great time!
Old fashioned tables and chairs set out like the old working men's clubs and do not fit in with the modern decor. Acoustics are bad, it's tinny and noisy as there are no carpets or curtains. It would help if they put the marker in the right place on Google maps, instead of putting it in the Lounge bar. First impressions are everything so maybe make outside look inviting.
