About This Pub
Ah, The Derby Inn, what a gem in the heart of Barrow! From what I've gathered from the buzz around, it's got this brilliant mix of a cosy pub atmosphere and a bit of hotel comfort, making it feel like a proper local haunt with a twist. The live music really steals the show – think Friday and Saturday nights filled with talented local acts that get everyone up and dancing, creating that warm, communal spirit you don't always find elsewhere. The staff are just lovely, always chatting and ensuring you're looked after, whether you're grabbing a well-poured pint or settling into one of their clean, spacious rooms for the night. It's dog-friendly too, which is a nice touch for those who like to bring their furry friends along. On the flip side, it can turn a bit rowdy with the music and crowds, so if you're in the mood for a quiet chat, you might want to pick your timing carefully. And with no clear opening hours, it's worth checking ahead to avoid any surprises. All in all, it's a place that does a cracking job of blending good times with a bit of homely charm, but like any spot, it's not without its quirks – I'd say give it a go if you're up for some lively entertainment in Barrow.

-
It's dog-friendly and has options for private hire, so it's ideal for everything from a quiet catch-up to hosting a party or event.
Cons
-
It can get a bit lively and noisy with the live music, which might not suit if you're after a peaceful pint on a busy weekend.

There aren't any specific operating hours listed, so it might be tricky to plan around if you're not sure when it's open.
-
Being right in the town centre, it could mean dealing with crowds or parking issues, especially on event nights.

Been twice now and both times there's been live music and a good crowd.
Watched a great gig the other week, it's a friendly place with decent beer and good if it's sunny out front to.
Had the best stay. Nadine represented her business with the upmost professionalism, great customer service and was accommodating and friendly. They have coffee and tea available in your room, sheets were clean, white and ever-so fresh, and the shower was hot with amazing water pressure.
If you are thinking of going to the lakes for a getaway trip, the prices are much more reasonable and only an hour away from the heart of the late district.
I plan on staying there next time I visit Barrow-in Furness. Thanks Nadine for making me feel at home!
A nice quiet pub.
Dog friendly for those owners who just can't leave their best friends at home.
Friendly staff and good prices.
Overall a nice place to celebrate or for a quiet drink .
Amazing rooms , clean and very big. No complaints at all. Staff were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The band was not too loud that it kept us up and had an amazing night sleep thank you Mel!
