About This Pub
You know, I had a lovely time at The Kings Lodge the other day, and I reckon it's one of those spots that really hits the mark for a relaxed pub outing. It's got this charming, old-school feel with its Grade II listed building, complete with log fires and royal history that adds a nice touch of intrigue – imagine tucking into a hearty beef pie or a perfectly cooked steak in such surroundings, and you'll see why folks rave about it. The food's fresh and locally sourced, with options for all sorts, like gluten-free choices, and it's all served up with a smile from the attentive team. Plus, being just a stone's throw from Harry Potter World and with easy links to London, it's spot on if you're after a base for exploring. That said, it's not without its quirks – the operating hours aren't straightforward, and while the recent reviews are all top marks, the overall rating hints at a few inconsistencies here and there. Still, if you're up for a bit of an adventure, I'd say give it a go; it's got that welcoming heart that makes you want to come back for more.
Pros and Cons

Cons
-
The operating hours aren't clearly listed anywhere, which can make it a faff to plan a trip and might leave you hanging if it's unexpectedly shut.
-
With an overall rating of 4.4, it's mostly brilliant but there could be the odd off day, as not every review is as glowing as the ones we've seen recently.
-
The business status seems a bit unclear – it says it's closed, but recent feedback suggests otherwise, so it's worth double-checking before you head out.

Such a nice local pub with vibrant atmosphere in the bar area. The beef pie and especially gravy was amazing. Amazing and observing service. Very recommended!
It’s a local pub which has a hotel. Fantastic for Harry Potter go to the studio area. It is well priced and the food is good. The room is
good value . thank you very much for a lovely trip.
We went here for our breakfast whilst staying at a hotel down the road. We had a full English breakfast and it's was lovely and reasonably priced. I particularly need to comment on the eggs, I have chickens and I'm really fussy, however these eggs were nice and (nearly) as nice as the ones my girls lay 😊, the sausages were tasty too. The breakfast actually saw us though from 11.30am to about 9pm, we just didn't feel hungry as we were so full.
The lady who served us (I assume the landlady) was polite, attentive and chatty and we would definitely recommend it.
We were hoping to return later on for tea, however, we spent longer than we thought at Harry Potter studios. If we return we will definitely pop in again to try an evening meal.
Just moved to King's Langley. We had a fantastic dining experience here! The rib eye steaks and lamb shank were cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and served in generous portions. They even had a gluten free menu which one of the rib eye steak was done. Every dish was delicious, and the quality of the food was outstanding. Great atmosphere and excellent service—I would highly recommend!
Cosy atmospheric pub serving amazing food. If I new the portion size I probably wouldn't have ordered the starter. Tried the calamari which were soft tender with a light batter melted in your mouth. The beef pie was loaded with beef a rich gravy had to take half home couldn't finish it !!! The service was excellent accidentally dropped my fork and another arrived within seconds . Very friendly locals pub with open fire definitely recommend this place for food or drinks good prices as well .
