About This Pub

Ah, The Kings Head – what a lovely little spot it is in Bristol! From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that warm, community feel where the staff are always up for a chat and the drinks are so reasonably priced, you'll be tempted to stay for one more. The jukebox keeps things upbeat, and the darts add a bit of excitement for a proper pub experience. It's just the place for sinking a few pints of cider and sharing a laugh with friends on a relaxed afternoon or evening. But, to be fair, it's not without its downsides – the outside toilets can be a drag in the rain, and you'll probably have to dodge a few smokers near the door, which isn't ideal. That stale beer aroma is a classic pub trait, but it might not appeal if you're after something a tad more polished. All in all, if you're up for an honest, no-frills good time, I'd say give it a go; it's got heaps of heart, even with those little niggles.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • Drinks are super affordable, which is brilliant for a casual night out without emptying your wallet.
  • The atmosphere is lively and fun, with a banging jukebox and darts on offer for some proper entertainment.
  • It's a classic boozer with great vibes, perfect for enjoying a pint of cider and having a laugh with mates.
Cons
  • The toilets are outside, which can be a bit of a nuisance if the weather's rubbish.
  • Smokers often hang around the entrance, making it tricky to get in and out without a bit of a faff.
  • There's a stale beer smell that lingers, which might put some folks off if you're after something more fresh.
  • It feels like a traditional old locals' spot, so it might not suit everyone if you're looking for something more modern.

This is a old locals drinking pub, toilet is outside. Always get smokers standing outside on the narrow path. When you walk past the door you will be able to smell the stale beer soaked carpet.
