About This Pub

Ah, The Kings Arms – what a cracking little spot it is, tucked away on Roupell Street in the heart of London. From what I've gathered from folks who've been there, it's all about that warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home, with a fantastic range of real ales that any beer lover would rave about. The Thai food adds a brilliant surprise, freshly cooked and full of flavour, though it's worth noting it's handled by a different team, so it might not always hit the mark perfectly. On the upside, the staff come across as genuinely friendly and helpful, and it's ideal for a casual catch-up or even a small gathering in one of their private rooms. But, let's be honest, it does get packed sometimes, which might put you off if you're not in the mood for a squeeze, and its traditional vibe might feel a bit old-school for those seeking something more contemporary. Overall, it's a solid choice for a good night out – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the positives really shine through in the reviews.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The real ale selection is fantastic, with eight pumps offering a constantly changing variety that's perfect for any beer enthusiast.
  • The Thai food from Kanchana's Kitchen is absolutely spot on – fresh, authentic, and a lovely twist on the traditional pub grub, making it a great spot for a meal.
  • It's got that cosy, historic charm in a beautiful street, feeling like a proper old-school London pub where you can relax and chat with friendly staff.
  • The atmosphere is welcoming and lively without being overwhelming, especially on quieter weekends, and they've got private rooms for get-togethers which add a nice touch.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy at times, making it a bit of a challenge to snag a table or even get inside during peak hours.
  • The kitchen is run by a separate business, which might mean the food experience varies a tad or feels a bit disconnected from the pub itself.
  • While it's got a great vibe, it might not suit everyone if you're after something more modern, as it's very traditional and could feel a little tucked away.

A busy little boozer - if you’re lucky enough to get inside you’ll be greeted by a typically cozy residential pub, the Queen Vic meets ‘Goodnight Sweetheart’. Weekends are quieter for obvious reasons, pulling in a more mature real-ale appreciating crowd. Try your luck…

Great selection of beers. If you find yourself a table you can even enjoy a delicious Pad Thai from the restaurant at the back.

I really love this pub!! Nicely tucked away in a beautiful street, so it’s not too busy, but still lively and have a good buzz. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the food was amazing! And they serve real ale here. For any real ale lovers out there

Only came here because we saw that Roupell Street is a conservation area. Wonderful old 19th century homes. The Kings Arms is a good "local" pub with Thai food eating attached. We didn't try the food, unfortunately 😕.

We had a family get together on Saturday afternoon, it's a lovely traditional London Pub, friendly people, with friendly faces. The Thai Restaurant at the rear of the pub was very comfortable in both seating and atmosphere. We had a lovely meal (all freshly cooked) with a wide variety of choices. The bar staff were very pleasant and really helpful. We WILL definitely be returning, we had a really great time. Thanks to all your lovely Staff, especially the Barmaid from Walthamstow.
