About This Pub

Ah, the King Edward VII in Blackpool – it's one of those no-nonsense pubs that really captures the heart of a good night out. I reckon it's spot on for grabbing an affordable pint and soaking up that warm, community spirit, with friendly faces behind the bar and locals who make you feel like you've been coming here for years. The atmosphere is spot on too, especially with karaoke adding a bit of fun and energy later in the evening, and it's even a decent choice for families early on. But, let's be honest, it has its downsides – it gets packed to the gills sometimes, and you might find yourself queuing for ages with staff looking a bit overwhelmed. Plus, not everyone's raving about the cleanliness, with a couple of harsh words painting it as a bit rough around the edges. Overall, if you're after a straightforward, budget-friendly spot for a chat and a drink, it's worth a go, but maybe plan for quieter times to avoid the hassle.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Affordable drinks that won't break the bank, making it a wallet-friendly spot for a pint or two.
  • Friendly staff and welcoming locals who make you feel right at home, like you're part of the crowd.
  • A lively atmosphere with karaoke and that classic pub vibe, perfect for a good laugh with mates.
  • Child-friendly until 7:30pm, which is handy if you're looking for a relaxed family outing before it gets buzzing.
Cons
  • It can get really busy, leading to long waits at the bar and not enough staff to handle the rush.
  • Service might not always be fair, with some folks getting served ahead even if they've just arrived.
  • A few comments suggest it's not the cleanest or safest place, which could put you off if you're fussy about that.

Decent pint really busy not enough staff on. Stood at the bar for about 10/15 minutes and others (locals) were getting served before me even though they literally just got to the bar. But atmosphere was bang on really good

One of the nastiest, stinky, scabbiest, unsafe PUBS in Blackpool, if you happen to accidentally go in there... Wipe you feet on the way out............. yuck
