About This Pub

Ah, H & A Social Club – it's one of those hidden gems in Blackpool that really knows how to put on a good show. I've got to say, the thing that stands out most is how welcoming it feels; the staff are just lovely, always ready with a chat and making sure you're looked after, which makes for a proper relaxed evening. The entertainment is brilliant too – think live vocalists, keyboards, drums, and even bingo sessions that get everyone involved and laughing along. And let's not forget the food and drinks; they're so reasonably priced, it's like a breath of fresh air compared to some pricier places around. On the flip side, though, I've heard a few tales of people not quite fitting in, with some feeling stared at or even pushed around, which is a shame and could make you think twice if you're new to the scene. Overall, it's a solid choice for a fun night out with mates, especially if you fancy a bit of nostalgia and value for money, but it's worth popping in first to see if it suits your vibe.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • Drinks and food are ridiculously cheap, which is a real treat for anyone watching their wallet.
  • The entertainment is top-notch, with live music, bingo, and talented performers that keep the night buzzing.
  • Staff are absolutely brilliant, always on hand with a smile and quick service to make your visit memorable.
Cons
  • Some folks have had off-putting experiences feeling out of place or even unwelcome, which can put a damper on things.
  • It might not appeal to everyone, as the vibe leans towards a traditional social club that could feel a bit cliquey at times.

Was hoping for a good atmosphere and live music, but sadly had a really unpleasant experience. From the moment we walked in, we were stared at and made to feel completely out of place. One man physically pushed me and told me to ‘keep moving’, and when we approached the bar to order (which is standard in most pubs), we were glared at again and aggressively told ‘there’s a queue’. The idea of queuing at the bar makes no sense — especially when we weren’t pushing in or blocking anyone. We joined the bar like you would anywhere else, and were treated with complete hostility. We left immediately because the atmosphere was so uncomfortable. I work in a social club myself and would never dream of letting anyone be treated that way. Even if it was just customers behaving badly, a venue still sets the tone. If new faces are treated like intruders, that’s on the environment created. Really disappointed.

Went here most of the weekend as its a working men's club. Went with my wife and the in laws. Had an excellent weekend in there with reasonably priced drinks. Entertainment was excellent ever day. Plenty of food and snacks available and bingo to be played. Sunday dinner can be ordered aswell and bought out to your table. I can't think of a bad word to say about this place. I would like to say thankyou to them for keeping us entertained all weekend - was a great time
