About This Pub
Ah, The Jovial Sailor – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a second home, you know? From the glowing reviews, it's clear folks love the way the staff and regulars go out of their way to make newcomers feel welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or settling in for the evening. The cosy fire on cold days and the option to bring your dog along add such a nice touch, and with pool and darts on offer, there's always something to keep the fun going. On the flip side, it's a shame the website's not up to scratch, making it tricky to dig up more info before you head over, and it seems like food isn't a big focus here, so you might want to grab a bite elsewhere first. Overall, it's got that authentic local charm that's hard to beat, but if you're after something more modern or with late-night vibes, it might not quite hit the mark. Still, for a straightforward, heartwarming pub experience, I'd say it's well worth a visit – just go with an open mind and enjoy the craic!

Cons
-
The website's a bit of a letdown with an error popping up, so it's not the easiest to get more details online.
-
Being unclaimed on Google might mean it's not as polished in terms of managing its online presence.
-
From what we've seen, it doesn't seem to offer much in the way of food options, so it might not be the spot for a full meal.
-
The hours wrap up at 11 PM, which could feel a tad early if you're after a late-night hangout.

Well I have to say that the premises is a place steeped in good memories for me, I spent many an hour in the premises, I found that the staff were very excellent and helpful to a tourist, a good level of service even if the premises was packed with people, they had a good selection of beers and larger on sale at any time of the day.
All in all a totally enjoyable experience for a tourist or a night out.
A proper local pub which is ran by a local landlord and his Mrs,
Warm and welcoming, clean tidy and comfortable.
It has a pool table and dart board for those who like a little bit of pub sports.
This pub nearly died a death a while back as has happened to so many. Fair play to Darren and Andrea for keeping not just open but alive!.
