About This Pub
Ah, The John Kennedy – it's one of those unpretentious pubs that really captures the heart of a good old British local. From the reviews, you can tell the staff, particularly Janet, go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome, whether it's for a casual drink or something more meaningful like a community event. That traditional atmosphere is spot on if you're after a proper boozer with a bit of character and friendly faces around. On the downside, it's got a rougher feel to it that might put off those wanting a slicker setup, and with no food available, you might end up heading elsewhere for a meal. All in all, with a solid rating, it's worth popping in if you're in the area for a relaxed pint, but keep in mind it won't be everyone's idea of the perfect night out – honest chat, that!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely, especially the landlady Janet who's always friendly and attentive – makes you feel right at home.
-
It's got that classic, old-fashioned pub atmosphere that's warm and welcoming, perfect for a proper pint and a chat with the locals.
-
A great spot for community events or gatherings; it's handled things like wakes with real care and thoughtfulness.
Cons
-
It can feel a bit rough around the edges, so if you're after something more polished or modern, it might not hit the mark.
-
No food on offer at all, which is a shame if you're looking for a pub that serves up a bite alongside your drink.
-
It's not for everyone – some folks find it just isn't their style, even if the people are nice.

Everybody was really nice just wasn't my kind of place
We had our mothers wake at this establishment
Janet did a fabulous service like she did for our dad's wake the year previous
No food, thank God, a proper old fashioned boozer.
The regulars were great, the staff lovely, the Landlady, Janet, so friendly and attentive.
A one off grade A pub. The atmosphere and ambiance this pub has is hard to find elsewhere, always worth a visit. Oh and a rather unique manageress with a pleasant smile for everyone.
Nice enough community pub in the meadowcroft area of Aylesbury. A bit rough round the edges but ok. Pool table, darts board and sports shown. Dogs ok outside but not allowed in.
