About This Pub

Ah, the Cotton Wheel in Aylesbury – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff really go the extra mile to make you feel at home; they're chatty, helpful, and always up for a laugh, which sets a great tone right from the off. The deals are spot on too – think tasty meals and drinks at prices that won't break the bank, perfect if you're planning a midweek catch-up or a family meal. The atmosphere is buzzing, especially with all the live sports on offer, so it's brilliant for footie fans or anyone wanting a bit of excitement. On the downside, a few folks have mentioned the food isn't always perfect; there were complaints about things like chewy poppadoms or chicken, which is a shame when the rest is so inviting. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.1, it's clear most people have a whale of a time here. If you're heading out for a pint or a bite, I'd say give it a go – just maybe play it safe with the menu choices for a smoother experience.

Cons
  • Some dishes might not hit the mark, like the odd chewy item in meals, which could disappoint if you're after top-notch grub.

Yeah, well, as a consumer, I must say that I was Presently surprised by the Phil and the walk for the place made me feel very homely especially why is not a manager. I don’t know about you. I was very impressed. Five stars rating

Good variety of food available on the menu, with various different offers for each day of the week. Really good value for money. When my partner and I ordered at the bar Callum took our order and was very friendly and helpful. Kieran brought our food to the table with a smile. He was very friendly and checked up on us to make sure everything was perfect for us.

I just left the cotton wheel in Aylesbury and I have to say was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was very friendly, the staff are warm and welcoming and the new management is a delight. I ordered the steak sizzler and I am so speechless with how nice it was. Compliments to the chief and the staff, take a bow

I recently visited the cotton wheel pub and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The atmosphere was casual and family-friendly, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. The menu had a wide selection of comfort food classics – I went for the mixed grill, which was cooked well and came with generous portions. Everything arrived hot and tasted fresh. Service was friendly and efficient. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and our server made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The prices were also very reasonable for the portion sizes – definitely good value. It’s not fine dining, but it doesn’t pretend to be. For a budget-friendly, hearty pub meal, Hungry Horse delivers exactly what you’d expect – solid food, quick service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

We went for the curry and a better for £8 on a Wednesday night. We booked but it wasn't busy. I get that it's only £8. Yet, the poppadoms were very chewy and the chicken in the curry was very chewy too. I don't think we do it again. The service was quick.
