About This Pub
Oh, what a gem The Jiggers Whistle is, tucked away on High Street in Brownhills. From the moment you step in, it's clear this place knows how to make you feel welcome, with the owners going out of their way to chat and ensure everyone's having a good time – it's like popping round to a mate's house for a pint. The beer selection is spot on, offering a great range of ales and ciders that keep things interesting without overwhelming you, and I've heard folks rave about the still ciders being absolute treats. The cosy setup with its warm lamps and lighting makes it ideal for a chilled evening, and the background music is just right, letting you actually hear your pals over a laugh or two. It's family-friendly too, with dogs welcome, which adds to that inclusive vibe. On the flip side, though, they've got this rule about not lingering at the bar, and if the place is buzzing, it might feel a bit restrictive or make you second-guess yourself if you're not used to it – the owner can be firm about it, which might not sit well with everyone. All in all, it's a solid spot for us pub enthusiasts looking for good company and decent drinks, but it's worth keeping those little quirks in mind for a smoother visit.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home, like you're part of the family.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of beers, ales, and ciders that really hit the spot.
-
It's a cosy and relaxing spot with warm lighting and just the right level of background tunes, so you can actually chat without shouting.
-
Dogs are welcome, which is brilliant if you're popping in with your furry mate, and it's a welcoming place for everyone.
Cons
-
There's a rule about not standing at the bar, which can feel a bit awkward if things get busy and space is tight.
-
The owner might come across as a tad strict if that rule gets overlooked, which could put a damper on the vibe for some.

best bar in Brownhills and the owners are very nice. when we go there we feel like family
Amazing place. Great selection of beers and full of lovely people. Nice tunes on in the background which allows you to actually hear the people your talking to unlike a lot of places.
I took my daughter to see her dad and his mates one evening when passing and we were made most welcome by Colin, Teresa, friends and customers. I had two still ciders, pina colada and pineapple and they were gorgeous. The pub is relaxing and cosy with warm lamps and lighting. My daughter really enjoyed it too. Kids and dogs welcome.
Excellent customer service and broad range of ales and ciders. Definitely recommend a visit or three. This pub does not brew it’s own beer but is a smaller brewery outlet pub, they require you not to stand at the bar that can be awkward IF the place is busy
Owner fairly rued if RULE broken
A great pitty that they have such irregular hours
You never know if or when this “ pub” will ever be open
Great welcome and everyone very friendly.
Enjoyed a couple of ales and a pineapple cider. Dogs welcome even ours who were a bit vocal. Would certainly recommend The Jiggers Whistle and we hope to return.
